At the recent 24-Hours of Nurburgring touring car race, Volkswagen finished with two class wins, both with the VW Scirocco.

In the 2.0-litre turbo class (SP3T), VW Scirocco GT24s finished first in class (for the third year in a row), and third in class. This was also 15th and 20th overall.

In the Alternative Powertrains class (AT), VW Scirocco GT24-CNGs (natural gas) finished first and second in class, and finished 17th and 101st overall.

VW drivers included Gineal de Villiers and Carlos Sainz, who both drove VW Race Touaregs in this year's Dakar Rally (de Villiers won it).

The overall winner of the Nurburgring 24 Hours was a Manthey Racing Team Porsche 997 GT3 RSR, for the third year in a row. http://adac.24h-rennen.de/Home.168.0.html?&L=1
