helbus - June 22nd, 2003 at 09:11 PM

None of them drowned, but did any of the drivers get wet?

I look at that now and just think COLD COLD COLD. Trouble with being in Melbourne in winter.

OK, enough about the weather already

*jenz dreams of summer and tries to warm her fingers by typing furiously*

BiX - June 22nd, 2003 at 09:28 PM

i'll trade u, i hate the heat, the colder the better

Andy - June 22nd, 2003 at 09:29 PM

What's with the ring in???
That last one's no Manx!!! :D

Next you'll let Kombi's in the club.

helbus - June 22nd, 2003 at 09:34 PM

BiX you are on.
I love the heat and can do without an air con any day, but the heater has to be cranked.
That's why I prefer the Beetle to the Kombi in winter. It gets real toasty in there.

jenz58 - June 23rd, 2003 at 08:41 AM

Hah, well that's what you get I guess when you play in the mud!

What do you do to protect the engine/distributor from the water? May be a dumb question but had to ask:jesus

Brad - June 23rd, 2003 at 08:43 AM

Engine - Gets wet
Dizzy - most run new leads, electronic ignitions and sealed units, I am trialing some new brand of sealeant with points an it works fine.
Carbs - well they get wet, hey DAZZA, unless you have a rice cooler setup like mine.

jenz58 - June 23rd, 2003 at 08:57 AM

The fun must outweigh the task of cleaning later:thumb

Thought something like that:)

Brad - June 23rd, 2003 at 09:01 AM

Nah the mud and water just washed th sand off :D

jenz58 - June 23rd, 2003 at 06:09 PM

Nah, daz67 did a post about cleaning his buggy:sandrine

He must be finicky, unlike others;):P

manxed69 - June 23rd, 2003 at 09:12 PM

I hate sand! You clean your buggy and the next day it's sandy again.

I hate sand! You clean your buggy again and the next day it's sandy again.

I hate sand! You clean your buggy again and the next day it's sandy again.

I hate sand! You clean your buggy again and the next day it's sandy again.

I hate sand! You clean your buggy again and the next day it's sandy again.

Finally after six months of cleaning sand it's finally starting to stop coming out of every nok and cranny, it's time to go down to the beach again.

My engine bay is full of sand :(
And I didn't even get the fun of driving on the beach!!

Damn sandblasting lol

jenz58 - June 23rd, 2003 at 09:54 PM

LOL

Sorry did you say you hate sand:D

J how do they get such a good paint finish if there is still sand around from the blasting??? Can't help but wonder is all (?)

helbus - June 24th, 2003 at 08:03 PM

When painted all of the orifices are taped up and sand is trapped.
Unfortuatley due to the velocity rquired to sandblast, the stuff gets in those gaps.
