56astro - June 23rd, 2003 at 11:54 AM

:D

Dasdubber - June 23rd, 2003 at 12:08 PM

At the moment there is a big space in my engine bay, but soon to come will be a 2L type IV with 40dells and upright cooling....lightened flywheel, mild cam, should be fun! Looking forward to the torque.

Unity-28 - June 23rd, 2003 at 01:47 PM

1835 in the Notch, Who knows in the bug (not ready for a donk yet!) Maybe a 1776, But not sure yet!

So far so good, I am very happy with it. Till I hit 5000km and some hard work I don't want to say to much. So far it is smooth and leak free, tappet covers leak but I will swap them in 100km time when I do the 1500km service on her.
I took a heap of photos when I built it so I can compare the cases. You can see the begining of teh story at http://www.offroadvw.net/buggybrad/images/Bluemanx/engine.htm

VWCOOL - June 23rd, 2003 at 11:07 PM

1916 in the Oval, a 1300 in bits for the Country Buggy, a 253 cuber in the Kewy and a 5.0 in the HSV

VWCOOL - June 23rd, 2003 at 11:07 PM

Oh, yeah, and they're called bonnets here dude, not hoods

moonlite6t6beetle - June 24th, 2003 at 10:29 AM

:bounce:bounce:bounce:bounce:bounce

amazer - June 24th, 2003 at 10:37 AM

I dont have a hood, or a bonnet, or a boot, or a trunk. Just an engine lid.

devilbug - June 24th, 2003 at 01:38 PM

2.1 litre in a swb manx,1641 in a low 66 beetle.:bounce

Doug Sweetman - June 24th, 2003 at 02:26 PM

A much maligned 1835, counterweighted and balanced bottom end, 044 heads. Let down by a slipping clutch and kadron carbies cos I cant afford to get my 40 IDF's set up :).

Maybe one day injection...... :)

amazer - June 24th, 2003 at 03:20 PM

Ive got a garage wall thats powered by a 2 litre type 4, a 1600 type 3, and 3 or 4 36horsers.

Golde60 - June 24th, 2003 at 07:36 PM

i got a ground pounding 1500 twin port, with 40 horses at the rear wheels.

(damn it dean, it sounds better if you dont mention the missing aircleaner!:))

and Golde will have a 2L T4, with allmost identical set up to dasdubber when shes done.

engine is in the garage at the mo

i hope to get about 100hp at the flywheel, so if i break 70 at the rears i will be very pleased.
