Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any original Hebmüller beetles in the country?
I know someone used to make repo ones, but has anyone brought a real one over?

The last one ever made is being restored to former glory in Adelaide
Thanks for the info guys
I was just wondering cos I've been into vw's for a long time and have never seen one.
I recon they are the hottest beetle ever built.(apart from those 4 dr german police beetles)
Was there ever any RHD Hebmullers produced?
I heard that there was one prototype, but I'm not sure if this is false information or not.

they're called paplers and they're rarer than hebs
especially fitted with Radars or Randers wheels
Hebmuller also built a few 4-door beetles,
but the Papler is better known.
At least Hebmuller does not sound like some womans medical check.
Bit of info here http://www.thehebregistry.com/registry.aspx
and here http://www.karmann1952.de/html/hebmuller_register.html
hey vwvic as far as i know we have two herbs both of which i think were brought here around the early nineties number 16 which came from europe and number 12 which came from the usa if there still around not sure
This is a cover of Australian VW Power magazine, from Dec 89/Jan 90. It describes the first Hebmuller ever brought to Australia, which was #12 as Robb
mentioned.
It was purchased by Guenter Draude of Carrum, in Melbourne. He had spotted an ad for the Hebmuller in a 1983 issue of the US magazine Hemmings Motor
News, but he didn't follow it up until 1988 (!). When he rang the owner in the States, amazingly he still had the car. Even more amazing, he agreed
to sell the Hebmuller to Guenter for 20% less than the 1983 asking price! He shipped the VW to Australia in 1989 and it appeared in issue #6 of that
magazine. Perhaps you could look in the Melbourne phone book to see if there is a G. Draude listed?
I believe Grahame Lees (former owner of Beetle Wreckers and Northshore Volkswagen in Sydney) also owned a Hebmuller once, but I don't have any
details.
