nah this ones mine ,i have your other book, how to rebuild your vw engine
The CJ 2-litre engine was the only one available for Australian Kombis from 1976.
Yes it is a 'Type 4' engine, as it is a bored and stroked detuned version of the engine fitted to the VW 411 and 412 range (not sold in Australia).
The same engine, in a much higher state of tune, was also fitted to the Porsche 914. A similar layout to the Type 1 engine, but much bigger and
stronger and with almost no interchangeable parts. It's like the Type 1 engine is VW's 'small block', and the Type 4 is the 'big block'.
thanks phil great info and something i didn't know about
joel sorry i bow to your superior info ,and when i start reading words i'll be like you, my hero
