Am I missing sumthn here, you can't find any one to fix your ford and you work for a ford distributor? maybe any one with a ford should avoid macarthur ford

what sort of ford xf xg 4.1 4.0 carby , injected? or others.
modules and coils go on them pretty easily but cheap to replace.

Had a Falcon AU a while back which developed a miss. Took the "easy" way, and fitted a new set of plug leads. That fixed the miss, but the plug leads were more difficult to fit than I thought!

if its a later one ,the miss is most likely a coil pack, for the people who also drive a blue oval (ford) like me try here

I thought it was a distributor rather than a coil packl. So I am confused. Which looks really hard to get at. Leads look new too.

I am thinking of either a repco place here or ford. But not too keen on main dealer prices. Just need some decent honest advice

thanks for the replies

As I said before, replacing the plug leads cured the miss in my Falcon. The old ones looked "new", but were no good!

Glad you fixed the Ford (another 4-letter-word starting with F). They are a real BASTARD to fit, eh? Looking forward to the beer!
