Dyno Mania 2009 presented by Das Resto Haus in conjunction with Dak A Tak racing drag night has been run and done with great weather and great numbers
of spectators and comeptitors all turning up for a day of fun, catching up with VW mates and meeting some new ones.
Big thank you to Leon's motors for hosting the dyno day. andrew, Leon, Quintin and Peter all did a great job getting the cars on and off the dyno and
kept everyone entertained thoroughout the day with the noise of screaming VW's of all shapes and sizes.
I must thank Peter Page for his help with running this event because it is simply impossible to run an event like this single handed. I haven't had
the spare time I used to with a job change so Pete had to do a lil more so I thanks mate for all your efforts!! Hence we must also thank our wives for
their help with organising artwork, advertising material and general computer skills that Pete and I lack a bit of!! I must also thank Jen and Lisa
for keeping everyone happy with food and drinks on the day as well. Also thank you to Lisa's Mum and Breanna and Christina for their help too!!
Last but not least to Das Resto Haus as major sponsor for the 2nd year and to all our other sponsors we appreciate your support immensly and look
forward to 2010!!
We look forward to next year making it bigger and better!! hope to see you there!! Here's the results....

Unfortunately the test and tune at Willowbank was very bust with over 350 cars running so it was a very long wait between runs so most opted for one
run and go home. Aaron Roberts broke a CV after a great burnout and failed to see the 60 foot mark( his Dad was playing mind games in the other lane
LOL) Troy Alder got the Fastback down the track without incident or breakage much to his relief so now it is off to the dyno again to get the car
tuned and wind up the boost. Stanley also had his first run with new engine since putting an inspection window in the last one!! Everyone else had a
good time and track conditions were good and temps were certainly favourable for good times. Hopefully next year we willl see some more cars running
and a few of the watercooled guys are keen to come out as well.
So tide I can't think to spell write now so i'll post pic's up .
MORE PHOTO"S HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the report and pictures!
There is a post here:
http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=25222&page=2
for people to post their dyno sheets for easy reference.
Found a couple of pics over at boostcruising.
Looks like i'm my own worst enemy. In trying to keep the car warm for the almost 3 hours while waiting to run i've run out of fuel.....again.
Engines out and will have it pulled down....again.
11.47 from Pete!
Good work dude!
WINNER - Donna Hanson( Beetle 1916cc)
Well guys what was the hp I need to know as for the competition at Warwick lol.
Rose, It says beside it.... 80.1
Trevor Luckhurst (Beetle ??)... Its a 1915cc. 1970 year model. - Might
be going to his house today and may get some photo's up....
Good work Fella's !
Nice pic of the S3
Definitely a great day!
Well done to all who organised. Fantastic format (ie having the drags after), shame we got rolled by the Harley Davidson crew (they had a bracket
comp and ruled the staging lanes)...
I have posted a few more pics here http://www.oldskl60.blogspot.com/
Footage will follow soon I hope...
Thanks for the pics and link to your Blog Tom.
Lovein' the new '58!
tom the 58 looks fantastic- how about posting some more pics
adam
Adam , go into my photobucket link above , more there .Looking tuff ,Tom , big engine coming then he will have a small on his face !
Tom,
Great job on the 58. You must be so tempted to run that big motor you've got tucked away! Look forward to seeing it in person at Warwick.
Long live the Cal Look, no better example than your 58!
Cheers,
DO'C
Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. I am definitely enjoying being back behind the wheel of a beetle.
Yep definitely tempted to put my motor into it, it is begging for a big motor or baby turbo. I have a set of mahle 92mm b&p sitting round so I am
thinking of a budget 1835 turbo... time will tell.
Will post some more pics when I take some more.
Cheers
Tom
yeah, loving that brown!......always wanted to paint something brown
was your green beetle featured in an Aussie VW mag years ago?
Nice going guys,
Sounds like it was a great day/combo with the drags after.
Can't wait to see all the cars at Warwick this year.
Love the brown... looks awesome!
any vids around yet?
hey Daimo
I have thrown together some of the footage from my camera (the rest is on Pete's camera) but having a few issues uploading to youtube (12.5 minutes
but max is 10min).... will have it up by this evening (if i don't spit it again)
The green car was featured many years back (was owned by Keith Poole at that time) and had some pics in Ultra VW as part of an adelaide volks fest
spread.
Cheers
Tom
Hi Guys
The below link is a snippet of the footage that i have from the dyno day. It comes out pretty bad on youtube so you will have to stay posted for the
full dvd version from dak-a-tak racing... but at least it will give you a taste for how good they sounded and the great set up at Leon's. We did
capture all of the runs (at least i am pretty sure we did) but the others are on Pete's camera so please dont be pissed I did not include any
waterpumpers...
Cheers
Tom
youtube link...
Cool, thanks Tom.
I love the response from the 42hp guy:
"Is that it?"
Lovin that brown bug!
Here are a couple of photos. Sorry about the quality. Onlyhad the phone. Same goes for the videos.
Great night even if a bunch of clapped out Harleys overran the place.
