Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance
axlepressbutton - August 18th, 2009 at 09:13 AM

I'm in L.A. for a few months so a road-trip up the coast this weekend to attend this show was a no-brainer. It's best described as the Canne Film Festival of the Automotive Calender.
The event has the best of the best cars shipped in from around the world. Only the most exotic cars get an invite and classes are judged with the best of class being the highest award a car can achieve. The best of show award is the Holy Grail of classic car awards.

There was also a display of concept cars from the major exotic car manufacturers.
Here is some of what we saw.

That was the BEST lot of photos I've seen for ages - if not ever! How lucky you were to be there. The bloke in the 'Speedos' was Rollie Free, a good mate of Burt Munro (of The Worlds Fastest Indian fame). We have a BLACK Poodle with 3 legs, who follows me around like a SHADOW - I named him VINCENT! May catch up in October?

Cheers, Greg

Hey Greg- Yeah, not the cheapest of shows to attend, but definitely an event to see if the opportunity arises. We had a great weekend and everyone we met was super friendly- a great vibe around this show!

There is also a couple of days of classic car races and an exotic car auction that goes on all weekend with many cars going for 100K and up. Too rich for me unfortunately!

So you might be heading over here in October? Looking forward to catching up with you at some point in your trip.

Cheers,
Stuart
