I am trying to get a PDF of the page in the How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive by John Muir that shows the guy trying to sleep in a four-poster bed,
with an exploded engine diagram in a balloon above his head.
I don't have the book and wondered if someone could send me a PDF of that page.
Sorry,
I don't have the book...
but it has been re-printed and updated many times...
so that drawing You want may have been in only one version??
that's only a wild guess or an early version...
someone had the whole book on PDF here a few months ago
but as I said it may NOT have been in that edition..
best of luck
LEE

it is called transaxledream (even though it is an engine)
Thanks for the image!!
I am in the US and an old friend in Canada is busy taking apart a 1970s Honda 750 motorcycle to use as a parts bike. He sent a picture of all the
parts disassembled on the floor and I thought of this picture again.
It is applies to a lot of situations, such as complex projects of any kind.
Thanks also for the artist's web site. He has a poster and a T-shirt of this drawing too.
When I download the image as a .gif on my Mac, the background is dark so the image is messed up. I was able to copy paste it into PowerPoint and save
it as a PDF.
Would it be possible to post this as a PDF at a bit higher resolution?
I know this is completely extraneous to your site, but I have a BMW motorcycle that has an engine design quite similar to the VW.
I worked on a VW engine in the late 1960s in my dad's car and got some of my first auto mechanic lessons from it.
PM me your email and i will send it to you as a PDF - cant post it as a PDF
