Legend has it if you dont name your VW it will break down on you.I think it might be true.Even Daryl Vatone named his Inch Pincher.Is this true or am I nutz!

As soon as u name your car Daimie it will run like a dream, they did name a car "Herbie" and look how well he goes.

perhaps they just dont like their names? perhaps they are all named the same name and dont like their names being changed! maybe its a secret conspiracy in the VW world between the cars where they are all called zoobafoobly and get really narky if you rename them.... perhaps all that dak-ing and puttering is really their way of talking to us and telling us to stop calling them names!

That's why you shouldn't name your kombi until you've got to know him/her!

Our kombi came named Pippi. we kept the name and pippi is as good as gold. flew through rwc and inspection down transport office.
Not gonna be changing it. Plus the misses likes the name of her kombi.

Well Id hate to throw a spanner in the works here, but my kombi named PASH has broken down several times, but still I love her

I don't know about changing names..... What if the old name doesn't suit the car and is just wrong??
Mine was originaly called 'Dudley' Ewwww (sorry but it just didn't suit) I think Belle is much more appropriate.
I named her cause it seemed to be the right thing to do........

We call our Kombi "Heidi" she is a member of our family, one of our children.

my t3 square was refered to as dubs and it kind of stuck and turned to dubsy. the g/f liked kirby so the other one has been given the name, can't tell you if she will break down or not yet as she still isn't on the road.

Both my kombis have had names, there was Karen Kombi, she broke down all the time. and now i have Lizzy named after the queen when we bought her down in tassie at the same time. no other name would suite them any better!! lizzy is in the process of breaking down all the time!!!:sandrine

Well, I think a VW has to have a name because they all have their own personality. When I knew I was buying mine I decided to call her Lorna and then when I got her Lorna just was not right and it took a few months befor I found aname which sat just right and I finally settled on Lexi!

This Baja of mine replace my best friend when he passed away. Couldn't have another dog at the Strata Unit I was in so the Dog-O-War was the next loudest thing. Named after a Pink Floyd song "Dogs of War" which is a complementary anthem when I was doing the fix up for the RWC.

Of course a Kombi that is yellow is called Daisy and a red L bug (after a flipper blue L bug ) is called Blue2!

my kombi is called "nora" kinda short for nora the explora because i like to searching for surf spots in her lol kinda silly really

i'd like to introduce "Hoobie", or hoobs, a picture of whom can be seen on the left... after a spirit transplant, hoobs is now on the second incarnation
seriously tho. i'm mad. but hoobs never breaks stride until it's convenient for us both (or if he's struck by lightning) and that's only after giving me a few hints. hoobs has *choke.. slobber.. tear down cheek* never let me down...

I a sweet golden cocker spaniel called Nora so I love the name

She was a bit of a tart in the end (found her on her back on the nature strip), so when she became a mother of 5 our duck, Daffney, took over the role of mother and kept putting the pups onto the nest she'd made. Nora just wanted to keep her role of spoilt house dog going and not take on responsibility of parenthood

Well I am a big believer in Naming my cars.
Of course Herbie is called Herbie, but David Evans in america has a Herbie replica and he calls it Penny, {go figure}
My 67 Kombie is called Zombie because it suits and rymes he has a pastey mottled complexion and definatley resembles something undead that roams the earth looking for sustinance. {ok mostly cos it Rymes}

My Mazda RX4 coupe again this name was given to him by the police lady that owned him before me and every one refered to him as Rodger.
But I have also had cars that just wouldn't wear names, for some reason no name ever seemed appropriate.
I think its important to have a good relationship with your car and it helps keep them in good condition, it shows you care.

My 61 bug is called Mr J after the old laddie I brought her off. But I have not been able to come up with a good name for my buggy can’t find one to suit. Any buggy name suggestions? No. Plate is DUNE

Well my bug's names Christene (like the Steven King movie), because everyone thinks its possessed, She has tried to kill me many times, but thus far has not been successful and the fact that theres always somthing wrong with her!!

How about SPEEDY like the old 70s cartoon, Speed Buggy, where {if my memory serves me correctly} the teenagers would solve mysterys {very similar but for legal reasons obviously very different to the scooby doo gang and Goober and the Ghost chasers}
But they had a little buggy with a full character and eyes in his headlights, he was cool, If I had a buggy I reckon thats a fitting name for him, do you have a photo? that would help generate name ideas.

I've never named any of my VW's but I've always had Gumby on my rear vision mirror as a companion. Had the same Gumby since 1985.....and he hasn't broken down yet.

My 66 Beetle is called Shazza, dont know why buts its the name that came to my head.

My Audi A3 Turbo is called Bianca, because shes white Bianca is itallian for white.

Both my cars have never broken down on me so they must like their names

here is an old pic of my buggy, it's just about to get lowwer somewhat and have a few mods done. I'm not sure that its a "speedy" yet but maybe some day. well I'm working on it.
