i want to get the kombi lowered and im in the process of saving at the moment, now from what i can tell the suspension bits all look to be in good
shape ( for an old girl anyway) mind you this is only from what i can tell tho.
any way i was wondering where i should get it done at and ruffly how much it may cost.......i do remember speaking to the guys from Custom Bugs and
Buses at the fairfeild show and we were contemplating a package that cost around $800 this was explained to me as lowering the bus 3-4 inches back and
front, or somthing very similar ( making it look evenly lowered like not rake or rave or what ever it is out of Bus selecta)
any one had this done and if so ruffly how much should i save ???
If you want to do it for cheap do it all your self, i did my ute and saved heaps. The only thing i didint do was weld the adjusters into my front beam, i got kruzin wagon to do this for me. It cost me $320 to exchange my old beam for one with the adjuster welded in. The rear is easy to lower, costs you nothing and only requires basic tools to do. The hardest part is removing the front beam. A workshop manual is a great thing to have when doing this.
i'm in the process of lowering my splitty at the moment and have found Kimm Garland at Indian Automotive to be most helpfull. Has done it to heaps of splittys and it's a little more involved with a splitty than a bay. cheers, fish:bounce
but mines only a bay window would this make a great difference in price ???
probably not on the front as you still have to lower the beam, but the back you just lower on the torsion bars i think. fish
The total price should include- Exchange beam, new shocks, Nolathane/rubber bushes etc too.
thanks guys ill look in to it on some web sites
Does anyone know if someone is 'importing' them over to WA, cause I want to get a set, but would prefer a local supplier ...
don't think it would be that expensive to get them sent over from Kimm in Sydney. give him a call and find out some prices. cheers, fish
indianautomotive are doing a drive in and drive out job for $880 with all the goodies you guys are recomending, but im assuming that is if all the
suspension parts are in good nick and dont kneed replaceing.
but as mine are is should cost me around $880. hope this help anyone.......this info was off there website by the way :thumb
