This is what happens when you drive like a dickhead.
Popped a crest on a dirt road at about 75km/h when it landed things went pear-shaped and she swerved to the right up the embankment into the trees
then rolled onto her left side and ended up on it's roof. Myself and the passenger are both completely fine. Unfortunately the car needs a bit of
work.
Drove this car 1000km down to Warwick and back last week and this is how I repay it for being so reliable, I'm such an idiot.
Smiley (not quite as much)
A few more.
F.M.D.!!
Glad you are ok!
Yeah, seatbelts work incredibly well.
Does anyone know of a torsion bar front body in the central Queensland area? If so I'm interested.
Smiley
thats not good r.i.p bug
good thing your fine to restore another one
sorry to hear about your bug
I'm going to fix this one!
Already chasing down another body.
Smiley
I have one down in Gladstone that i can get u cheap, a 54 pan with a 61 body with the baja kit(bugeyed) peco wheels, was mine 6/7 years ago and its
gone down hill since i last owned it. Mate picked it up and will sell it for cheap as he has no time, there is another one thats totaly complete that
he wants about 3 grand for if thats of intrest to. drop me a line on 0413 135518 and i'll let u know more details
steff........
whatever happens, dont baja another beetle.... find a baja already done.
Why not? I know of a body sitting at a wreckers that might be avalible, with no floorpan. So why can't I Baja it?
Smiley
baja's are cool........glad you and passenger are ok

oh on a slightly different angle i mite be removing the 4 point rollcage from mine if ur intrested in buying it
good to see u walked away...
steff.........
Might be interested in the cage lol.
The buggy I'm building at the moment is definately getting a full cage through it.
Smiley
Looking again at it - i cant beolieve the sceen isnt broken with the twist in the body
Yeah, I can't believe th only bit of glass to break was the back window. Even the window in the passengers door is fine!!
They sure made these old girls tough.
Smiley
glad your ok, woudl of been a hell of a ride
itll buff out.. right???
I just topped the oil up and she starts first flick of the key, like always. I love this car.
Smiley
OMG....couldn't believe it........when a friend rang and said to have a look.
We met you at Warwick.......have the blue and white Baja and parked behind you!
Glad you and passenger (if you had one) are fine! Looks like you will be doing lots of work, but didn't you say you were building a buggy? Good
incentive to get it done!!
Marc and Kathy
Best car to cut up is an undamaged unmolested one owner with no rust. Chop it I say.

nooooooooooo
Hey Smiley....sooooo happy you are OK and live to play another day!!
Sad to see the Baja all banged up, but if you walk away, its not that big a deal, its only a car after all and cars can be rebuilt.
Guess its another parts car for the buggy eh?
Damn...that not good at all
At least you got out ok, thats the main thing.
As for the baja thing, i'm with Mr Mustard on that one...but that's only because i've never really "got" the whole baja thing. The shape of a bog
standard bug is so curvy...sexy... and elegant...a thing of beauty!!...so why anybody would think it's that bad to want to change it i will never
understand!? At least we still share the same engine i guess? lol
Good luck with the new project though.
HOLY CRAP!
Even with a roll bar the body would have been totalled no doubt. would have been pretty scary mate, i feel for ya. Find a clean body , otherwise it'll take ya three years to restore a well used, salt
water subjected, rusted, dinted and scratched baja
I'm sure your as keen as ever just to get it back on the road. I would be...
, sorry for your loss, but chopping beetlles
into something useable such as a baja is easy so you'll be going again real soon .
Oh Yeah, at least that bloody coil stayed on
hope the drive home was uneventfull mate, make sure u keeps us updated with the rebuild.
Good to catch up next time lets be taking our Baja's out :o)
steff....
Yeah, got home safely. Thanks again for all your help Steff.
Smiley
did you drive it home?
Imagine the attention you would pull at hte lights :P
No, plus there are no lights in Yeppoon, lol.
