Does anyone know of spats for bay bus's?
Will spats from earlier busses fit?
:o
Just interested to know. :repuke
No, and no.
i liked the idea of spats a little while back so i could get my rear wheels off nice and easy and make it look like a rodder!!!
but i got my head chopped off by forum members of the time!!!
cheers

Yeah that was probably me :P
I think that flares would be hard to make look good, purely because of the flare around the wheel-arch. They work great on Beetles and early buses,
and even type 3's, but I've never seen them done well on a kombi. I guess there's always a first time for everything though...
**Damned typos :o

DO IT!!!!!
Man, you just gots to put some spats on that thing!! ring Cauchi's auto accessories on 0412544651 he make spats for absolutely any thing!! If he
dosen't have them he'll make them for ya!!! He's in Melb.
I'm with you col on early buses the arches dont have a lip so spats look good (if there your thing) but if you have a lip I recon you would never get the right lines in other words you would look like a freek
i was thinkin of cutting all the way upto the top of the wheel well and getting rid of all the arches so i could have it slammed and be able to change
the wheel easy!
cheers

There seems to be a bit of confusion as to what spats are. spats are a sheet of metal that covers in the rear wheel arch, If anything would make it
harder to change a wheel.

If it will be controversial then I think I may have to give the idea of spats a miss.
NOT!
I am going to get them now! :bounce
Here's a pic I found....
Here's some flares that were an attempt to overcome the flared wheelarch problem:
(Sorry about the image quality, I scanned them out of "Volkswagen Greats, Feb 1978"
