colonel mustard - October 21st, 2009 at 01:33 PM

All my assignments aree due this friday. then im finished. for ever. except i still have to ake a video and a few other bits and pieces.

But its nearly over!!!. (they also teach me about facebook/community @ uni, which is why i say what i say about it!)

bajachris88 - October 21st, 2009 at 01:47 PM

What do they say about it? :P

Its definitely not hte best place to make friends ... haha...
but beats the cost of a phone convo... + you can show progress pics to make photo albums etc without hte cost of printing and storing CD's...

and arranging meetups and events is soo much easier than a list and calling every individual person.

i check it now and then and spend 5 mins at most at a time...
I don't know how anyone could live on it haha. But... i'm sure theres some people who do!

Last forever!? gah! i got a few yrs yet of engineering.. bout half way through. 1 assignment this fri... and 3 exams... (fun fun...., i hope no one gets jealous now :P)

sigh... who am i kidding... i'm in denial. It sux...

I think people can be quite blinded by facebook. You create an event (like a bbq) and invite people on FB. what about the people without FB. I've not been invited to about 4 events in the last 2 weeks, because i dont know about it.

Also, birthdays. it reminds you when peoples birthday is! and then they write on your wall.... they dont even have the time to send you a text (which was regarded as rude 5 years ago) let alone call and wish you a happy birthday.

Its also a stalking ground IMO, - and people think they know you because of status updates and events you attend etc. - when thats not true at all.

Getting caught up in it is a really bad thing, as you stop making real friends and having real relationships with people. (for the record I'm not saying I've never done this, I am just saying this is how I see it.)

i totally agree hence why i have been always against it.... plus the more personal info on the net, it makes it easier for government agencies to keep tabs on you.... but still, i caved, so if u have it and want other vw'ers to add u then go for it....

Not much activity or point in the group, or FB generally. Fortunately I don't have too many friends.....
