is anybody doing these conversions any more if so how much do they go for ..................... remember when jeff was doing them at helll bug but never got to see one chopped of their water jackets and so on .......... more so the replacement of the studs for air cooled barrels and heads

I did one for my drag car in the mid ninety's after reading this story.
Although I left the studs in their original location, and just re-drilled the heads to suit.
This worked well, and I could swap my heas back an forth from my 1775 to the WBX 2393,(92 borex90 stroke).
I also shuffle pinned and added a deep sump,
but unless you have access to a mill,
the cost will be way more than the latest autolinea bubble top deals.
Any machine shop can mow off the water jackets though.
Getting the old head studs out can be a chore.
the reason for the questions i can get my hands on maybe a 2.1lt water cooled if it wasnt to hard id do it my self cause i heard they are the
strongest case u can get ......... so al that needs to be done is the studs in the block or re hole the heads shave the jackets off and thats about it
......... have u any pics of ur build dave if ive missed any thing please let me know
