2ND SYDNEY DYNO DAY
Craig Torrens - June 30th, 2003 at 07:30 PM

What does everybody think about having a 2nd Sydney Dyno Day ??
Maybe after (or before) Nambucca at the same venue. (Silverwater Automotive)

As an Idea maybe we could go Go Kart racing afterwards or a cruise ???

What do you think ???

amazer - June 30th, 2003 at 07:53 PM

Could be a goer before nambucca. Will probably need some dyno time.

speedster356 - June 30th, 2003 at 07:59 PM

Count me in.

56astro - June 30th, 2003 at 08:36 PM

If the oval's back on the road,

then count me in, especially for the carting

I'm in this time too, after Nambucca would be best, I'm away on holidays the 3 weeks before Nambucca.

lugnuts - July 1st, 2003 at 03:39 AM

And you can count all those YEAH DUDES IVE GOTTA 100+ HORSES in too:D

jakriz - July 1st, 2003 at 07:08 AM

I can't afford it at the moment Craig, especially with Golbourn & Nambucca just around the corner.
I'm going to wait & hire the dyno for a couple of hours so that I can play with jetting & timing.
The last dyno run just told me what was wrong with the car, despite the 90 at the wheels.

Jak

Peter Leonard - July 1st, 2003 at 08:14 AM

nice sig line jak
hahahh
:D
ur a funny bugger :thumb

i was hopin to figure out the tuning and timing stuff at the same time... is this not possible while at a standard dyno day??
or do you just roll up, blatt and roll off again? :alien

Che Castro - July 1st, 2003 at 11:27 AM

yeah i'm interested! i just havent done anything to my car since last dyno day so i wont bother putting it on the rollers

Oppressa - July 1st, 2003 at 01:08 PM

Interested. How much does it normally cost?

jakriz - July 1st, 2003 at 05:37 PM

I thought that u would like that Pete, it's just for u mate.

Seriously though, it's just a blatt then off again. It gives u a good baseline but nothing more, u really need some time with the car up there, stop it, play with it than give it another run to have any benefit of the dyno.
The stockers last time were the only ones that had the correct air/fuel ratio.
regards
Jak

Peter Leonard - July 1st, 2003 at 06:19 PM

oh well. still would be fun to have a blatt. assuming we have about ten in attendance, what would it cost? about 50 each? hmm

*smashes piggybank*

i wouldn't worry too much about it jak, 90 horsies is perdy respeckable. I'm back on three cylinders again after a downpour. have to get that CDI kit up and running. probly should go to an auto electrician. if only i trusted them.
also have to retime the hoobulator for its new unleaded diet.
so much to do... so little time n money before Valla...
:D
30 sleeps to go....:bounce

Quickbug - July 1st, 2003 at 07:38 PM

Engine's still on the bench.
Cars still smashed, but should be back on the road soon, albeit with a standard 1600cc or maybe my old 1916cc... not sure yet.

Good luck, hope you can make a day of it.

amazer - July 1st, 2003 at 09:49 PM

why cant you run the 130+ hp one?

Thats the one I am hanging out to see.

Peter Leonard - July 2nd, 2003 at 01:00 AM

stick some wheels on the bench mebbe?
:D
maybe it would go even faster than my piano heheheeh:alien

jakriz - July 2nd, 2003 at 05:42 AM

Yeh Peter it was $50 each last time. If we had over 20 then it was going to be &40 each, about 42 said they were coming but only 12 showed up.

I'd definantly make a special effort to come to Sydney just to see quickbug on the dyno, after driving Keiths 2387 with 120@ the wheels at the time, a 2180 with more would be awesome!!

regards
Jak

PS Quickbg, can I borrow it to beat up some Porsches??

Quickbug - July 2nd, 2003 at 06:04 PM

Amazer - its still on the bench, and still partially in pieces since the crank snapped clean in two. Plus, the car its supposed to be in is still smashed.

Im not financial enough to put the engine back in for a while in after the hit and run back in january.

You guys may be hanging out to see it in the flesh (as it were), but believe me, i died from frustration a long time ago...

LOL Peter! if only it were that easy.

Jak - If anyones driving it - its gonna be ME! lol!! Your car would definately be set up better suspension wise, etc, to take out Porsches on the track though...

jakriz - July 2nd, 2003 at 07:58 PM

I just want the motor , not the car LOL.

But seriously, I think that u will be very humbled when u get the car on the dyno.

Jak

What he said ^,dynos never lie,and dont forget kids when you play with the mean ole dyno play in SHOOTOUT MODE otherwise we`ll be comparing apples and oranges, and lets have none of this pulling off of the aircleaners like the mexicans do.:D

Peter Leonard - July 3rd, 2003 at 02:52 AM

how cool would it be to have your own dyno...:bounce

amazer - July 3rd, 2003 at 10:38 AM

I have. Its called mt ousley. You can use it whenever you like. It doesnt give you a print out though.

Peter Leonard - July 4th, 2003 at 03:54 PM

oo. sounds big. must be a real old model if it has no printer tho ;)

amazer - July 4th, 2003 at 06:21 PM

actually you CAN get a print out and photo on your way back down. Still not exactly what you want as it doesnt say hp just date, time, and speed.

But the photo costs a fair bit. Its not included with the free dyno run.
