Good choice man. I learnt to drive on a beete (i'm 1303steve's son) and i'm glad i did. Learning without power steering and all that other stuff really does make you a better driver. My cousin tried to drive my bug once and he could only just get it out of the driveway and gave up just up the street and he had been driving for 3 years. It is the best way to do it. Very nice bug by the way

you carters make me laugh. in a good way. Love it :)

I agree with dave, I never let my friends drive my beetle, because I know they couldn't. having said that, there are harder cars to drive... ie, 1980 mazda 626.... I thought the tires were at 2psi.. honestly, never been in a car that was harder to steer. so glad it wasnt mine. (having said tha, my old 89 laser had tougher steering than my super....)

you should try driving an old falcon or commodore then or an old toyota boneshaker,
your arm muscles will be the envy of all these wankey bodybuilders driving excels

gotta agree with steve, superbugs are bout the safest you can get in an old bug and he wont headbutt the windscreen in an accident

Hi

Saw the bug today, its real good find.

Watch that you don't go over 2 hours driving per session on the L plates.

Imagine a other road uses seeing a swarm of bugs, all with L plates LOL

Steve

Why can't you go over 2 hours?? (ps, I wish I was in Sydney today!!)

1303Steve - November 1st, 2009 at 11:03 PM

Hi

Your supposed to be responsible and have a break every 2 hours. They will delete any journey over 2 hours form the logbook

Wow, i'm still on my L's, im very very glad that you told me that:lol:

Sounds like it will be a shock for me when I get out of mums mazda 6 and into a beetle:lol: Sounds like a workout:lol:

DaveCarter - November 2nd, 2009 at 04:40 PM

The don't look to kindly on having 13 second entries spanning the 1/8th of a mile either

colonel mustard - November 2nd, 2009 at 05:24 PM

haha... no they dont.

&, mazda 6's have alot more power than beetles... (gereally) and heaps easier to drive.

ryana89 - November 2nd, 2009 at 05:30 PM

Stock 2.3 litre straight four puts out 170+ horsepower, if anything the 6 is a boring car to drive

blahgab - November 3rd, 2009 at 10:04 PM

i learnt to drive in my 69 bug now 6 months away from getting my black licence i love my bug and now find driveing my friends and familys cars boring. They may not be the safest things on the road but because of that i have always tried to drive more carefully so it has definatly made be a better driver
