My new Jack Russell pup [6 months old] has eaten the inner soles out of all My Shoes...!! and chewed My wife's shoes..

and in one afternoon She chewed the plugs and the cords off
2 x pedestal fans, 2 x ceramic heaters, a table lamp, a H2O steam Mop and the last straw was the pressure washer..
which now has a 12 inch lead.... so it needs to replaced as 12 inches isn't good where water is about...

and the short leads on the pedestral fans is driving Me crazy as I keep stepping on the extension cord end... lol

lucky there was no electrocution involved. My Border collie ate a few remote controls and mobile phones and a PS@ console but luckily has grown out of that. Oh yeah she impressed a mate by eating the door trim in his ford and ate a gear nob in my terrano each tiome she was left only for minuets. Mitchell

Mine chews our hose, now we have to put it in the garage, just as i read this post i looked up the back and saw our dog chomping on a dead rat he has caught.

I have 2 Jack russells, one a 3yr old rspca rescue number.. absolute saint (except for a bit of the old houdini-itis).. and have recently aquired a purebred one as they are so cute.................till they start eating everything in sight lol... for the sake of your pup, get every possible cord up and outta harms way, and anything you don't want chewed, put away...then get heaps and heaps of chew toys/things/tasty treats.... they are gonna be teething for a while, thats why they chew.. as for shoes, bear in mind they were basically bred as earth dogs... hence the pic below.. dear audrey hunting for rats in my sons shoe pigs ear is much better (and possibly much more hygenic!)

Cute little dogs, our Dalmation chewed up my glasses, a pair of my wifes shoes, a brand new still in the packet mouse for my wifes laptop (we found the batteries out on the grass in amongst a nice ripe dogie do and they were perfectly ok, used them in my camping head torch after we cleaned them up), a mobile phone, the cord for the vacuum (try replacing one of those bastards with the wind up mechanism) and now he is about 5 years old I heard my wife telling her girlfriend that he has chewed up 3 more pairs of her shoes, I couldn't believe he was still doing it till she told me that at the time she wasn't game to tell me all the things he ate back then, lucky for him he's over all the chewing now. I calculated that in wifies shoes alone it cost me about $600, she's got expensive taste in shoes.

One of my old dogs (Bruno the Boxer) used to eat his own shit,,, he`d leave it a day or so & then after it had firmed up he would start consuming it,,, oh makes me feel like vometing even typing it,,, but then he`d get all excited & roll around in the soft stuff, covering himself in it,,, YUK

One day (morning) i woke up a bit late, quiclkly had a bite to eat, got dressed & was about to go to work & there`s Bruno, running around downstairs all covered in fresh stinking dog turd,,, ahhh,,, that`s all i needed,

So,,, i had to go,, i was late,,,, but couldn`t leave him like that cause he`d have run upstairs & through the house & jump up into our bed where my girlfriend (Marlene) was still sleeping so the whole place would have been covered in dogshit,,, so i lifted him up onto the tilt-a-door,,, Now he wasn`t game to move as it was soooo high up & any slight movelment would tilt the door & make him come crashing down, so he just stayed there,,, :-)

i yelled out to the girlfriend telling her that Bruno was all covered in shit & is up ontop of the tilt-a-door, but she was barely awake & didn`t quite realise what i said

an hour or so later,,, the lady from across the road came knocking on our door,,, Marlene opens it up (still half asleep) & the lady is pointing at poor old Bruno ,,,, sitting ontop the tilt-a-door,,, totally covered in dog shit :-)

I wish that lady had a video camera at the time, footage of the dog covered in shit, sitting ontop of the tilt-a-door would have been priceless,,,,--> but the look on Marlenes face would have been even better :-)

Edit--> Oh,,, after that day,,, he didn`t eat or roll around in shit ever again :-)

Our Beagle has a penchant for toilet paper - easily replaced, but frustrating when stocks are low!

labrador - everything ...except metal, doesnt like that stuff, thankfully!

My dog is a bout 11 years old and is a blue heeler bitza.

She eats bits of wood from the wood chip mulch on the garden, bits of the lattice that fell off, golf balls, tennis balls, other dog's turds when we are out walking, clothes pegs and occasionally things left lying on the garage floor, like electrical relays and wiring.

She also nests in the garden when she can, especially right on top of a big tomato or potato plant.

Compared to the expensive tastes of some of the dogs mentioned here, I'm lucky. She's quite cheap to feed properly and has cheap tastes in other things to eat.

My pug eats cat shit dogs are filthy creatures they eat anything. But the pugs dont chew anything only there chew toys.

My dog ate:
the whole corned beef, off the kitchen table,
a 1kg packet of sultanas,
a whole chololate cake that was cooling on the kitchen table.

One boxing day she returned with a Chistmas ham.
It was still fresh with heaps left on it,
and her belly was very swolen..no room for any more.

My dog a Golden Retriever when she was a stupid pup chewed the plastic mud spats and front spoiler on my then new car. She once chewed down to the copper wire of an electrical extension cord which was switched on! My parents Kelpie (he liked to roll in shit) used to pick fresh oranges off the trees to play with and my Retriever would eat them skin and all Numerous pairs of shoes, but thankfully no dog turds! She's now 10 and the only thing she eats other then her normal dog food diet is grass.

My last Golden Retriever would eat anything - plastic ends of hoses, entire watering systems, plastic handles off screwdrivers, off-cuts of wood, buckets, his bed, the outdoor furniture, fences, plantpots, the plants in the plantpots ... basically anything that he could get his mouth around.

One of his favourites was palm tree seeds, they would come out the same as they went in ... and were then re-eaten. Good value

The Golden Retriever we have now just eats kids toys that are left outside, towels and his bed (but only after it gets to the point where it needs replacing anyway)

Try feeding your dog grapes... funny stuff!

Sally, our bull terrier ate a complete wooden outdoor setting when she was a pup! Our other little mongrel just bites sallys' ears now while the older dog just lays there not knowing whether to kill the thing or just ignore it. I can't understand how chocolate is bad for dogs but if you're not quick enough to empty the cat litter tray the dogs can eat cat sh*t with no ill effects!!???

Speaking of chocolate...our dog loves it. If there is chocolate in the house, it will find it and eat it.
Its eaten a family block before. Not long before it spewed it up again though, foil and all.

well were can i start bras, undies, palms, thongs, extension cord that was on 240v, one 20m hose and all conections, to sprinklers, solar lights, a girl at work and a partridge in a pear tree......................... bloody staffy p.s in 12months

Sounds like you all have dogs that need a little bit of training.
I suggest getting yourselves a DVD on the subject......
