Hello
Does any one remember an article about a beetle that had a flat 6 fitted to it. Im sure it was in one of the varying vw mags that were round in the
90's but cant remember which one or how good the artivle was.
thanks
you mean the chopped burgandy oval?
its in one of the mags ive got but wouldnt have a clue which
didn't it have triple throat webers? 2.3 litres
Not sure about one from the 90's, but there is an Ultra VW mag that has a silver bug with a porsche 6 in it...
I heard they're a straight swap

Man, I am in love with that split!! That is GOLD!!
......although, after looking through the photos again, if it were mine, I'd get rid of that Supertrap muffler....it gives the game away.
It was originally built here in Adelaide. Porsche 6 with webbers and nos. Had lots of tuning issues from what I heard.

That was the one the chopped oval. I have had beetles and volkswagens for a while now so have been used to the usual "why dont you put a porsche
engine in it" comments. I got asked again recently and it made me think of this one.
Id rather go for a type IV any day....
Hi
I think that Swedish split is built on a Porsche chassis and I think its the same one that is in a you-tube video where overtakes a fast bike at
high-speed, does anyone have link to this video?

There's a site somewhere that shows the build for that split - I think it's basically a Carrera 4 with a split body - damned if I can find it again though. The split isn't the only crazy car on that site - there's a mental Porsche powered type 3 as well as some other crazy stuff - all built by the same group of blokes. They had a feature on them in Volksworld - a good few years back tho.

The split was built using an 1985 Porsche 911 carrera.
