lol I tried that already mate. I pushed it hard too! Was in the local paper and in VWMA! I kept it up with monthly meetings for about 14 months and then stopped because no one was coming to the club meets and i was getting pissed off and it was wasting my time! The club still exists but we don't have monthly meetings anymore due to these circumstances. I'm planning a Xmas cruise to Port Douglas so hopefully a few turn up for that! It annoys me that everyone i speak to says it's a great idea but then no one ever turns up for the club meets. I guess people up here aren't that into it

It mightn't mean that they "are not into it" but some people might not want to go somewhere very week etc...a lot of people also work shift work and might only have limited time available on weekends,more important things to do than cruze I remember being in a club years ago up here and they organised a meet up every month,due to my work roster at the time I got one weekend of a month which was the week after the meet With a larger population base you have people to make the numbers,can't compete with that up here. I'd happily join/start a club up here but I work 7 days a week most weeks or every weekend anyway.

Yeh i can understand that but what really ticks me off is the fact that I had people telling me they would come to the next meeting and they never showed. That's why i stopped the meets. I was getting phone call after phone call when the article about the club was in the cairns post. people were phoning up and saying they would definitely make the effort to come along to one of the meets. I even asked everyone which day and time they would prefer so we could get the most amount of people to each meet. Nothing worked maybe one day things will spark back up again

i work nearly every weekend so its hard also for me ...........however i will still help any one with a veedub its in my blood thats why i still service those lil buggers for other people up here ........hope all goes well for all those that attend or last was small but good to meet up with others with the same interests .....................
