bajachris88 - November 16th, 2009 at 04:54 PM

I got heaps of normal acrylic. will it do the job?

Or do i have to go grab some hi-temp engine enamel?

Cheers guys. :tu:

Go get it powdercoated. This should resist scratches as well.

what he said

But whatever - as long as you degrease it something should stick

normal Acrlyic will be fine ok to use......not the best, but still works fine !

If you dont want a standard look some of the hammertone or galmet paints can look good and real tough as well. Looks a bit like some of the powder coats that are quite popular on some cal look cars. I used a gunmetal one ages ago and turned out pretty nice.

tinware never gets hot enough to properly cure engine enamel

ive never had a problem using only plain enamels
they last fine if you put the prep in

bajachris88 - November 16th, 2009 at 06:34 PM

awesomeness :tu: thanks Joel.

I got undercoats and monza red acrylic, and it saves me forkin out more cash.
Should come up sweet and match the body. :D

Hi Chris

Fan shroud doesn't get that hot..
but the tinware over the heads does get hot...

but I always use car enamel spray cans...
using an undercoat...

this time I have used High Temp spray cans same as i use on the exhaust...

Car enamel should be OK...
I see lots of cars with the tinware painted the same color as the car...

With A BAJA [Baha] You shouldn't have overheating tinware..

cheers

LEE
