i have been trying to work out what size engine we have in order to get a sump plug as it is missing. The engine number is

AQ77457P

The A is off to one side so im not sure if that is included.
It would be great if anyone knew.
thanks

That is a replacement motor by the looks of it with a number allocated by the police dept (the P at the end). That means it could be anything in size.

Hi
Firstly FILL in YOUR Location....
We want to know where you are...

many of the people on here will have spare sump plugs laying around.. they could be in Your town/state...

but We don't know where you are...

I 'm not sure how many different size drain plugs there were...

all the ones I've seen are the same...

what year model is Your car..???

no AQ listed in My files...
New engines come without any numbers.
so some one has stamped that number in... who???

the laws are also different in different states

so again We need to know where you are...

LEE

so, chances are Your sump plug is the common one...
that everyone has laying about.....

Also

How you lose a sump plug???

the late model 1600 engines didn't have a sump plug just the plate...
this was to make sure the oil strainer was cleaned at each oil change...

its a qld police issue number so its probably a replacement block as they come with no number

sump plug shouldnt be hard to get there all the same after 36hp

Thanks Lee.
We have discovered that it is not sump plug that is missing. We have only recently purchased the 72 Transporter,so have no idea who would have re-stamped the engine number. After having another look it is in fact the Oil pressure valve plug that is missing. As you stated about the late 1600 engines ours also only has the plate with no sump plug,we are unsure what size engine it is,do you think it would be a 1600?

Thanks for your help i look forward to your reply.

Most engines that have been rebuilt would have been rebuilt as 1600.

After comparing several engines,we are quite confident it is a 1600.Still waiting on the Oil Pressure Relief plug to turn up.Wanting to get it started.
