roundtoit - December 10th, 2009 at 06:08 PM

Just a quick one, going to have a peek at a 71 super bug and the seller says it has a factory sun roof.
Did they and what kind were they? sliding or rag etc.
also
does the super have struts or beam?

Cheers

its possible its factory, they were metal sliding sunroofs since the mid 60s when the rags were dropped but they arent real common in aus

give the seller a good slap if its nothing more than a kmart pop up sunroof though

supers are strut too

thanks joel, just talked to the guy and he says its a collectors item with a rag roll back roof, sounds like a home made jobby?

it may be a factory rag sunroof but its not from that bug originally
the golde rags stopped about 64-65

Sounds like a britax sunroof.

Golde stopped '67, it'll be a Britax or popup moon roof most likely.

Golde were stopped in May 1966 ( in Australia ) as per the parts manual earlier in other countries

its a chop top for sure roll back sardine can shit box

dont buy it unless yr prepared to weld a new roof section back into it

I had a client with a '67 rag. Maybe it was a cut & shut but I didn't think so.....

I bet you it's one of those sardine can jobbies. Take a pic when you have a look so we can work it out.
