Now with Funeral details etc - Passing of Rob Jurgensons
Camo - December 15th, 2009 at 01:54 PM

To all,

It is with deep regret that I must inform you of the passing of a long time member of Club VeeDub, that being Robert Jurgensons. I actually attended Condell Park High School with Rob back in 1983-86, although I haven't seen him in many years.

Rob was well know in the VeeDub community and maybe some of the Club VeeDub memebers may be able to put a little more information up about him or tell a few stories.

If you click HERE you will get to the club site and then scroll down on the left side to 'Club Members Cars' and then find Robs yellow 68 Beetle for a look.

Rob was suffering from M.S. and passed away on Sunday 13th of December. Apparently the funeral wont be until after Christmas and you can contact a mutal friend of ours (Phil) on 0401 426101.

If I have any more information I will update this post.

To the family and friends of Rob, our hearts go out to you all and if these is anything I can do personally please contact me via this site or on 0413 135472.

Kev

So sorry to hear that, Kev. Yes he was one of the most active club members back in the 80s when we were all a lot younger than we are now. His beautiful bright yellow Beetle set the standard for both performance and looks for many years. He also contributed a lot of good ideas to the club over a long period of time, although with his failing health we haven't seen much of him in recent years.

I know my late Dad taught you both at Condell Park, and he always had good things to say about Rob in the later years when we were all in the VW club. He was much liked as part of the infamous Club Veedub 'SKAB' group that had a lot of great VW runs and drinking sessions - Sebastian, Keith, Adam and Bob.

I will keep an eye on the papers for the death/funeral notices and it would be nice to have some VWs turn up.

We will miss you, Jurgo.

Hi

I've passed it around to as many VW people as I can.

His old car still exists and will be there.

There will be a Wake at the Palace Hotel, Tennyson Road Mortlake afterwards.
