Can you still buy replacement door trims as mine are falling off. Only thing keeping them there is the window handle. ??

I don't see why not, companies like West Coast Metric and several others will still be making reproduction ones, so give your local VW shop a call and ask what they can order in. If you want to save some money though, it's really not hard to make new door cards yourself from a sheet of masonite or similar, just use the old ones as a template to cut it and drill the holes, then glue and wrap some fabric or vinyl over it.

Yes you can buy them at Vintage (02) 9789 1777. They are black padded vinyl with standard VW-style embossing lines. The door handle and window winder holes are already formed and trimmed. The grab handle holes are indented and only need to be cut out with a Stanley knife. Likewise, the large rectangular vent also needs to be cut out, should your Kombi need them (blue sliding handle).

Grab a packet of new trim clips while you are at it - the old ones are always bent / corroded / broken.

if you're not worried about originality... I made my own. Use the paper thin mdf that has the white melamine coating for added water protection. Got some proper foam backed trim material from rod penrose. a can or two of spray contact glue.
