rough the surface then glass them together.
got to be something eaiser hasn't there.
no more nails is my first thought ;-)
sikaflex is another. it all depends on how you want it joined.
Scruff the surfaces up with rough sand paper, wipe with acetone to get rid of the wax off of the old fiberglass, then mix a small batch of resin and use it as a glue, clamp the two bits together if possible or put some plastic over the area and sit a weight on it until it dries. the plastic stops the weight sticking to the job. Once dry miix some more resin and add a little talc powder and make a mixture much the consistancy of bog, again sruff the surface and wipe with acetone and apply the filler to cover any join marks or imperfections, let it dry sand back and you shouldnt be able to see the join..

Most hardware stores have a kit available called a fiberglass repair kit but it is better going to a boat builder or some one that does fiberglass work. the resin is a sticky liquid like runny honey and you mix at a controlled percentage another liquid called hardener, mix well and then you only have a limited of time before it starts going off so it pays to have your job set up and ready to go. if you mix to much hardener it goes of blody quick and creates a lot of heat so mix as per instructions. its not very dear to buy but dont keep any left over hardener for to long as it becomes unstable and can create danger
