great looking car

Phil74Camper - February 2nd, 2010 at 09:10 AM

It's a beautiful car. I don't know when VWs first went on sale in New Zealand but it could be they started a couple of years before us.

You would be CRAZY to modify it in any way. Keep it standardand immaculate. Put it on Historic Rego and only bring it out for VW shows. It belongs in a museum.

pffft!
needs struts

trickysimon - February 2nd, 2010 at 12:32 PM

Perfect for a front engined v8 transplant :smirk:

Phil74Camper - February 2nd, 2010 at 06:55 PM

I know you're kidding, but they've already made a VW with a front-engined V8 transplant (actually a W8) - the Passat W8 of 2001. It also has struts...

Joel - February 2nd, 2010 at 07:10 PM

you could do some nice reversable mods to that thing to really make it a sweet ride like some 17" BRMS, an adjustable beam thats NOT F'KING NARROWED!! and a mild engine that fits with no hacking

its too plain as it is

amazeer - February 2nd, 2010 at 07:39 PM

whats wrong with cruising along in the left lane with 25 brutal horses behind you? Plenty of factory fucked up 1302/3 beetles out there to destroy.

if I had a car as sweet as that (of any make/model) I dont reckon I'd be driving it too much anywhere. Too many other cars/drivers out there only too willing to destroy it in an instant.

BTW I'll be parking my falcon at coniston tomorrow if anyone happens to be cruising around in a bulldozer

Joel - February 2nd, 2010 at 08:17 PM

i'll keep an eye out for it
i regularly cruize the streets of wollongong in my D6

PS may the struts be with you

jjwebb123 - February 2nd, 2010 at 08:42 PM

Very nice car.So worth the money

Brian - February 2nd, 2010 at 09:19 PM

That looks great and seems cheap !

volumex - February 5th, 2010 at 03:05 PM

I wouldn't touch it - the fuel pump, carby and voltage regulator need to be replaced with correct items.

Being RHD, it most likely was assembled in Ireland or South Africa as a CKD kit.
