I learnt something today. I was doing a bit of work on my shitbox f*rd and on my test drive I have this weird ass random shudder. It turns out that you shouldn't turn the front wheels of a power steer car without the pump running. According to the internet I have to bleed the system now. Dont know if this is common knowledge or if it only affects f*rds but thought it might be a worthy FYI.
usually just turning the steering wheel will bleed the thing it takes a few but that should do the job
Plenty of cars (and some boats!) made in the last half century have the old tin-can Saginaw pump, never heard about bleeding them...
I never got around to bleeding it. A trip to work and back and its cleared itself up.
