Howdy all,
Earlier on today another VW nut pulled me aside and showed me a picture he took when in india.
now i have seen these:

But what he had was similar to...

With a pressed VW emblem on the front metal of the hood (i will see if i can get the picture)
So whats the go, i thought temp just bought the motors but did VW also press parts for them?
Hi
I love the army vehicle... with spare wheels between the doors.. and turning rear wheels... lol
As far as I know...
Tempo had nothing to do with Volkswagen..
apart from supplying engines for the matador...
VW didn't think the Matador would be so successful...!!
but only around 1362 were made... !!
and VW stopped supplying engines when they started making type 2 kombis etc..
Tempo then used a Heinkel engine...
[of German Bomber fame]
Tempo was made by Vidal & Sohn in Hamburg
1949-1951..
before the VW type 2s..
nice pic of a Tempo matador You have there..
so they are a very rare beast... lol
very strange that many were exported to Australia....
I can remember seeing them when walking to school in the late 50's.
How could You forget something that looks like that.. lol

Yeah thats what i thought but i will get the pic of the front of it from the guy tomorrow afternoon hopefully.
but the matador pic was stolen from: http://vwplusvw1500.blogspot.com/2007/06/vw-classic-2007-1950-tempo-matador.html
I read somewhere, that there are only about 6 left in the world
that seems a bit of a low number....

I want that no plate on the Tempo .
This is the pic he showed me..

anyone got any updates on the above image?
