The VW Milano Taxi Concept, with its top speed of 120 km/h is driven by an electric motor with a peak power of 85 kW (continuous power: 50 kW). The motor is supplied with energy via a lithium-ion battery integrated in the concept car's underbody. Thanks to the implemented battery storage capacity of 45 Kilowatt-hours (kWh) and the relatively low vehicle weight (1,500 kilograms), despite the battery, it is possible to cover distances of up to 300 kilometres (per NEDC) depending on driving style. The storage battery can readily be recharged to up to 80 percent of its total capacity in just over one hour, the exact time depending on the available recharging infrastructure and battery's momentary charge state.
OK.. Who wants to be a Taxi driver?? lol
Good vehicle although ugly from the front...
car is very similar to a Toyota vehicle sold in Australia
with sliding door on the Left and ordinary door on the RHS..
its also very ugly at the front...
the passenger seat in the Toyota actually swings out of the car
for disabled people.. one at a nursing home in Scone..

Looks like a version of the Space Up! concept car that appeared last year. Nice vehicle - has the current VW 'family' face, but without a grille
between the lights.
Sydney might be a bit big for a 300km-range electric taxi, due to our crappy public transport system needing longer drives than European cities. Lots
of down-time for recharging I fear. Still, would be great to see Volkswagen taxis in Australia to make a nice change from stinky Falcons.
