Some of my old toys

Was going through my draws when i found some pics of a few of my old cars from the uk so i thought i would put them up here..

This one was a full rally spec's car, i came across it in a very very sorry state. it had been used for many years through the 70's and 80's then it sat in a farmer barn untill i found it in the mid 90's. I managed to track down the last owner and i got a heap of details( dont have all the paper work here and can't remember much). It was one of the most compossed cars i have ever driven. On tarmac it was unreal, you could just nail her and it would always stick if it did break you could get some mental drifts while feeling in total control. It was fantastic at rally cross as that is what we set it up for. i could go on and on about it but i'll stop now before i bored the crap out of you!!!!

My daily driver, 71 with a 1835 engine of unknown builder but ranlike a dream. over 25thousand mile of rather hard driving and it never missed a beat, the engine came out of a write off i brought so it was never known who built it or what it quite was, only knew it was an 1835 by barrel size(as long as it wasn't a stroker!!! cuz we never riped the engine down)

this next picture has mine and my best mates, it was offered to me but at the time i have around 15 cars and i passed it over to him(what a mistake that turned out to be) It was sitting in a tiny garage with just about enough room to open the drivers door to get in and it had been there for 13 years! the owners husband passed away and she just left it there. she was leaving th house and had to shift it and i got the call. 4 hours tryign to get the brakes to unstick and we finaly got her out, it was bloody dirty as but it came up like new and only needed new brakes and tyres and it passed mot(roadworthy), all we did was paint the white insert as my mate wanted that look other than that its as we found it just polished and clean :)

these next ones were old race cars in soem shape or form that me and a friend picked up and used at Goodwood historic race track,

this was a Lister V12 jag that was a total monster in everyway! i only drove it on the roads as that was scary enough, my friend took it round Goodwood once and it scared the living bits out of him and he had some very fast toys, it was more the way it rolled and handled(it didn't!) that was the worst part. looked stunning tho.

the jag in the back ground was his and was an ex uk champs car with a fair few titales under its belt, i forget the drivers name now but it was a whole lot of fun to drive, still siting next to my two babys its looks half the car :o)

This was my one and only venture into the land of porka's and it fell into my lap so cheap i could't refuse. It was set up for racing and had the biggest tyres i had ever seen, it had 345/cantre member profile/16's on her bum and oh how she handled! twin turbo's with one of the most complicated rollcages(full cage front to rear that would surive long after the driver hadn't) loved it but i couldn't afford to keep and the mate with the other race cars brought her

my blue Kombi that i saved from the scrap yard, it had no floor left when i got her but the rest was quite solid so after a lot of new metal went into the floors and i quick paint it was used weekend trips to the west coutry with me 3 or 4 mates all our boards and gear while never missing a beat. The people i sold her to the week before i moved out here went round Europe for 12 months with out a single thing going wrong and 10 years on i am still in contact with them and its been veyr good to them..

lastly but by no means least my very first vw in Australia, being involved with dirt bikes back in the uk and anyone from there will tell you theres nowhere to used that at best i just had to have a Baja for all the land around to play with! it was a 54 with a later body that i got from up yeppon way cheap and it took everything i had to throw at it and still kept going, i wish i never sold it!!!
