68AutoBug - June 30th, 2010 at 12:54 AM

This is the coldest winter I can remember

the past few days - 6pm to 10am have been freezing

its been -2c to -4c Now that IS cold...

I would love to have a sump heater on My beetle, so when its started...

the heaters would work fast.... lol

and the engine would want to keep going... on idle.. lol

LEE

PS: I wonder how a single bed electric blanket would go wrapped around the engine.. lol
Don';t think that would work... lol

bitemeoz - June 30th, 2010 at 08:16 AM

i believe its called climate change.

dangerous - June 30th, 2010 at 09:02 AM

All the pollution in the world aint gonna stop the earths axis tilting.
My understanding is that this changes the climate to each extreme every 45000 to 50000 years.
In fact the Australian Aboriginies were living in Australia through the last one.
Theory was they kille all the mega fauna to keep warm(skins).
Well that's the story I made up anyhow.

What ever the theory, polution aint good.
Would you sh*t on your own dining table?!

I had a report of minus 8 at Armidale,
yet we have only had a minimum of 7 degrees this year.(perhaps 6 this morning!!)
20 to 30 years ago the winters were anywhere from zero to 5 at night here.

1303Steve - June 30th, 2010 at 09:15 AM

Hi

I can tell its cold, I drove my Hi lux work ute for 12 hours today around Sydney, it was putting out water vapour from the exhaust all day.

1303Steve - June 30th, 2010 at 09:19 AM

Hi

Something else for the chicken littles to worry about, with all the mining going on and taking tons of minerals for our continent and then moving them to another place in the world, with this put the earth out of balance?

I really believe it's called "winter"!! It's never been any different here in the Hawkesbury for the last 60 odd years that I know of. And summer?? No different there with temps to the mid 40s.

Hi Dallas,
We do have large seasonal/yearly changes in Scone...
wasn't really cold in Scone the past few years...

and last summer wasn't that hot..lol
a few 40c but nothing like weeks of 38-44c We have had over the years...

I used to remember xmas day... always 44c....lol
tried not to go outside...

In a very hot summer I don't drive My beetle..
but drove it every week last summer...

Daughter came off night shift at Tamworth VKG this morning and had a nice white Forester rather than black! She's still happy to have transfered from general duties to radio on these days even though she grew up in freezing Richmond.

Are you going to Valla and when? I'm going up that way on the Friday

Dave that is the best theory I have seen for quite a while,I was sure the kangaroos & koalas used to have a lot more mates with skins. When I was akid we used to have winters like this and still go out rabbiting at night or dawn, the frost was down & the small waterholes were frozen over, i can almost remember when the coins had bumblebees on them.:crazy:
Perhaps we are getting softer as we didn't even have heaters or air conditioners in our classrooms back then.

FROSTY - June 30th, 2010 at 08:36 PM

ryana89 - June 30th, 2010 at 09:46 PM

I think its been one of the warmest winters up here in Queensland.
Pretty much everyday has been a shorts, teeshirt and thongs day:yes:

Strangly though it was colder in Autum here, rather than winter?
I don't wanna experience anything under 10, and neither does my Golf!
18 year old fuel injection hates cold just as much as carbies:rolleyes:
