Subaru Conversions

Hi I am new to the aussieveedubbers, I registered just to get information about this subject actually. I recently bought a 1993 Subaru Legacy as a college car, the transmission died 8,0000 miles after my purchase but the engine still starts right up. I have a non-runnning 1967 Bug. It needs a Subaru engine! The engine is an EJ22. My question is cooling. I have seen radiators placed in front of bugs where spare tire goes and a grill cut into the front hood. What I want to do instead though is cut out the bugs firewall and move it up to the back seat making room to put the radiator in back by the engine. Does this sound crazy? I need input!

Hey mate, this is the place to find help and ideas. Make you way over to the non-ve conversions area and have a poke around, off the top of my head there is only a few dubs running with a rear radiator but there is a few with intercoolers back there,

Reub has a radiater in a whale tail i think and joel and ian mezz have them up front.

And that'd be Baja Wes that has the Mazda V6 with the radiator mounted in the back over the transaxle in his Baja.
