Turbo question

Those bloody awfull blow off valves!!!!

mine had one when i got the car and its still there, i have all new intercooler and i am just about to build the pipework, now my question is does this stupid sounding thing really need to be there? i know thats its ment to stop the turbo lag and to keep it spinning when i let of the gas. in day to day use the car runs 8.5 pound of boost and it has a duel stage that will run 14 when the coolers fitted. I would really like to remove the stupid thing as the whole "pfffsssst" annoys the crap out of me and in QLd they are ilegal. To make a proper plum back is not an option.

so leave it on or throw it away, whats the difference in the real world?

you think a blow off valve noise is annoying wait till you hear compressor surge without one

why is plumb back not an option?

on an atmo one you can muffle them abit by wrapping rag or filter media around them

space, there is hardly any room around the pipe work as it is to try and fit a plumb back would be a nightmare.

Ah fair enough.

Newt, it's the filter material used in ventilation and ducted a/c systems

Its also excellent for washing cars when theres heaps of bugs splattered on

Try a carbi filter sock. over the end like a finer filter.
Made my mates RX-7 a lot quieter.
