Both of these are also on the August edition of PC World Magazine from your Newsagent for around $7.00

best way to get free(and $$pay) programs is http://www.download.com  heaps and heaps to choose from plus they review each program and you can comment on it aswell.
i use avg wich works great.

I've tried most everything and the very best is AVG (girsoft) for the virus side and Sygate for the firewall. Both are free and are excellent and i should know 'cause my third drive has 40gig of software :)
+ on a tangent I now have 13gig of car videos :) 50gig of movies 12gig of music hehe broadband lol

Had a look at that site and most of the programs are free to try $$$ to buy.

If you know what you are after do a bearshare search, you never know what you'll find there.

zonelab for the firewall. http://www.zonelab.com
its free and for virus try nod32, you get it of the cd from PCUSER mag, about $7.00, not bad $ for mag and an update password each month
