Red Bull Coil
beetleboy88 - August 22nd, 2010 at 12:05 PM

Hey guys, bit of a weird/stupid question but i have seen somewhere a picture of a engine bay of a beetle and the coil has a Red Bull can placed over it. I'd love to do this for the local car show next month for a laugh. anyone know if it causes any problems electrical wise? and also what size can will fit the coil.
Cheers, Quin.

As long as it isnt touching and wires
cut both ends off and then one down the middle at the back
Wrap round your coil and carefully clamp in position

Hi
I was thinking of doing a PEPSI can..
but they are much larger than the coil...

the red bull can is smaller....??
the cans need to be cut down....
if You want to keep the bottom of the can makes it s bit harder...

the cans have no effect on the coil...
although the coil may overheat??
I've never heard of it happening...

Going back to the 70's at least! I remember coke cans from back then but I suppose everything keeps going around.

Jim Beam are more common... lol

Diet Pepsi may not be good for Your coil...:lol::lol:

or You... :lol::no:

or You can always paint Your coil Yellow...
or blue.. or red... lol
or not forgetting Gold... Yes....

I've seen it done - but not using a can (although it looked like a can). They had actually used the slip off label from a bottle and attached it to the coil. I think it was "V" energy drink though.

THEY LOOK REALLY GREAT WHEN THE BOTTOM OF THE CAN IS USED...

not sure how that is done...

Well, I've found that multi colored engines and ethanol don't mix

mine hates the stuff...

even if I use the bowser next to ethanol..
it plays up... lol

Oh Well,
there must be a color friendly petrol bowser out there somewhere.... lol

Should go to dan murpheys and look for a can of german beer to wrap around it. They got heaps of individual international beers u can buy off the shelf, well my one does.

If the can is too wide, slice it down the guts and wrap it over itself with the crease hidden behind the coil such that it faces the fan shroud.

Should look mint  I might actually just do that! (any excuse for a fancy international beer haha)
