I have seen lotsss of cars lately with mag wheels on the front and steel stock wheels or skinny wheels on the back why????
For the look. Usually seen on 10 plus year old Falcons and Commodores with a P plate stuck to the back window. They would be in the top ten list of cars that you would call 'Cop bait'
Burn outs .. No point flogging the shit out of your expensive tires and rims when you can have the same fun on stockies.

there are many reasons as listed but one very main reason is the burnouts.... cheapies on the back, just pop her in 2nd and have no tires in under 1 minute 30.... hehehe.... its a young and stupid thing... last time i did it was 6 yrs ago... must be getting old :P

Its a look some go for now, or cause they cant get their hektic rims to fit.
If you have rims on the front and stovkers on the back you get pulled over all the time around here, but tis the look im going for with my next car,
rims on front stockers on back, to give the impression i skid everywhere
Illegal I can understand if it's rear wheel drive, if it's front wheel drive I would think the opposite, but then I'm an old fart and just can't see the sense in it either way.

The latest craze here the Fxxkwits get up to-out to the industrial area with heaps of bread crates in their front wheel drive heaps-put a bread crate under each back wheel,pull on the hand brake and go crazy.They eventually wear thru the crate and end up with big flat spots on the rear tyres-Tyre sellers here just love it.

On the coast here you see heaps of vans and utes with the big chrome wheels/low profile tyres on the front and stock 14" wheels on the rear, not only is this for the burnouts but also it is harder to get "load rated" low profile tyres for the bigger diameter wheels. The front tyres of utes have a different load rating to the rear as that is where all the weight is.

I have got maccas trays in the back of my charade.
They dont last long at all on the road but grass they are good for ages.
It is to make it look like you do burnouts, even if you don't.
Burnout is the practice of keeping a vehicle stationary (or close to) and spinning both of its big wide wheels using heaps of torque and horsepower,
if your car has the real grunt to do it, causing the tires to heat up and smoke resulting from friction. Weak cars use oil or skinny tyres or one
wheel only
Skid is what a locked up brake or push bike wheel does. Not a good way to describe what a burnout really is.
