hi ,i am keen to hear peoples opinions on left hand drive kombis ect and some imfo on rego and insurance matters. is a left hooker worth the same, more or less than a rhd?thanks
There is a lhd at Nymeyers at Belmont, been there for some weeks having some repairs done to get it registered, looks a real tidy unit but it seems that it is very hard to match parts but then maybe thats just this vehicle.
LHd dont have the same resale
LHd Drivers all say they are great to drive
I would suggest driving one before buying.
I did and didnt.

If the car is that desirable (and came in RHD) why not just convert it. Couldn't be that hard.
just a bit of info a bloke i know had a 54 chev lhd and overtaking was a dangerous pain so he fitted a small camera into the right hand mirror and a small lcd screen so it made overtaking a lot safer
I've only driven one LHD vw here, you get used to driving easy as but as above overtaking is the dodgy part
parrallel parking is a snap though
If it was just a toy/weekend cruiser I'd leave be but a daily driver would be worth converting
You need a passenger to pay and make orders at EVERY drive through,
and a passenger to pay and press the buttons at every public carpark involving a boom gate
You need a passenger to hand over tolls at booths....
Just bring a friend pretty much lol.
LHD is quite popular, all of the european main land is LHD. in Oz its not so popular (or common) but its value is considered less.
i've driven lots of LHD cars in the UK, overtaking is "interesting" but you soon learn to look down the inside and overtake safely.
it mostly boils down to a personal thing, would I?? deff yes, would you - test drive for a weekend and find out!
i got pulled over in an rbt years ago with my lh karmann ghia, they breath tested the passenger and said right to go
