Just got sent this link from my local newspaper editor. I reckon it still looks like crap but not as crap as the current model. Looks a bit more
masculine with the chopped roof line. Can't wait to see it with my own eyes. Only gotta wait 1yr +

yeah it does look meaner.
I'm not convinced. It does look slightly more masculine than the earlier one, but its starting to look like any number of other small cars and
definitely doesn't have the character of its air cooled ancestors (in my opinion).
Having said that I'm sure you could do worse for a daily driver
looks more like a sedan type business car now.
interesting to say the least.
it's like they just stretch it out which altho improve the visual rating on my scale
side windows kinda looks cool but:
BOOO engine still in the wrong place
FF instead of RR has left me in despair
That looks terrible, but as the article says, it's in camouflage and will look nothing like that when it is released.
its modern, looks like a beetle and goes like a golf, what's not to like. We will buy one
The roof line has been inspired by the Ragster concept from 2005. A little lower and more angular.
The whole thing is not as 'cutesy' as the Mk1 New Beetle, so it may find more buyers in the US, the market for which it was designed. It's based on
the latest Golf Mk6 platform, so it's rather bigger than the old NB that used a 1997 Mk4 Golf platform.
Well that looks way better than it does in the other photos I've seen, but in my opinion it still lacks character
But hey, each to their own I guess.

The rear guards are sweet! I think the whole car is a huge improvement over the older one, now i would consider owning one.
It don't look gay like the old new beetle would look good in red
