Please identify my engine
shaihulud - October 14th, 2010 at 08:19 AM

I have just acquired a car with what appears to me to be a Type 4 engine.

The number is AP024956.

That number is not in my copy of John Muir, which was published in 1977.

It's a pancake engine, with the rear engine mount, longer than Type 1 rocker covers and the exhaust leaves the heads downwards. That says Type 4 to me, but what would I know? It's the first time I seen such an engine.

Please tell me what I have and what year it is.
