I got an answer from the bus depot today, $300 shipped to Gold Coast, makes the trans just over $1700 landed.(less any duty)
Looked seriously at subaru gears, had ball park figures for suck it and see rebuild but with rancho's confidence of a two year warranty, looks pretty
justifiable.
what is the core price?
core $ 475

Only one place I go for a trans and it's not Rancho.
Ask Westi about a Rancho box compared to the best you can get here.....
Not to mention, how good is that warranty when you have to fork out freight there and back, you are kidding !!!
Gotta love marketing.

Why am I being a ? Do you think if there is a problem with the trans and you have to send it back for a warranty claim that Rancho will pay
freight?
Speak to Westi mate, he bought the best Rancho make, I think it made one pass.......or was it one burnout?? I'm sure Westi wont mind, call him
before you send your money, Westside Mufflers Ph 02 9773 7244
Hey ahoogah, why dont you post up the box your interested in from Rancho and thier warranty, also what engine are you planning, I'm sure there are people here qualified to help.
Bummer about you not being able to choose Subarugears. I give a 1 year warranty against defects in quality or workmanship and you don't have to freight it to the states. But hard to match the $1700 price tag..... I wish!!! All depends if you really need the 5th gears as well I guess. Why don't you get Dangerous to build you a kick ass VW box?
Gidday Todd, I am going through options of what is available, then compare costs/benefits/drawbacks.
This forum is great for generally positive input.
Dave.
Baker Engineering in Vic, or German Auto's in Qld
just remember, at the end of the day, you get what you pay for one way or the other
