TMI or SEWFINE ?
LUFTMEISTER - January 10th, 2011 at 05:57 AM

A friend has recently received a TMI interior kit for his beetle. From the outside the cards look great, but when you flip them over I was disappointed to see that they use MDF cards and they look like they had no moisture proofing coating and the staples looked like office paper type staples? Does anyone use Masonite cards anymore. As you know we have been having a moisture control problem in QLD and his cards were starting to bow just lying in the box waiting to fit. I cannot believe they would fit these to convertible models. I told him to cover the backs with a polyurethane coating and to fit plastic to his doors. Anyone had problems with these products?

get sewfine. No. 1 quality. Might be 2-3 times the price but can't be beat.

tmi is sh1thouse.

check out sewfines website and some of their guides and you will see the materials they use. All their stuff is hand made too.

Depends on your budget and what finish you want to achive out of the interior.

If you want cheap and cheerful go TMI if you have an early car and expensive resto go West Coast Classic.

Sewfine seem to be a better in between.

If your car is a 70's model TMI is fine.

I'm very happy with my TMI seat covers and door cards in the type 3.

Dunno why someone would call it shit. Guess they know best
