Cip1 Canadian VW parts store
jeremyluke - February 7th, 2011 at 06:38 PM

Wondering if any1 has dealt with Cip1 before ?

http://www2.cip1.com

and how long is postage and handling going to take ?
Only buying a lot of small things like rubbers, window winders clips and such totaling $270 including postage. Just seems to be alot cheaper than other vw parts stores here...

vw54 - February 7th, 2011 at 06:40 PM

The postage will be a KILLER

buy from the shops here much better service

jeremyluke - February 7th, 2011 at 06:46 PM

Postage is only $70

So its $200 worth of parts

Im looking at it say as >>>> Body moulding clips at CVD are $10 and at Cip1 they are $5

Almost every thing at CVD is 30 - 50% dearer

Plus the new CVD website doesnt show everything and alot of the links are broken, so makes adding everything i need to a shopping list difficult

so where else have you tried ???

I used them late last year. Service was excellent as I had to call them to get the order fully sorted and delivery to my hotel sorted for a business it trip. The only issue I had was they supplied some brazillian and German parts and I did not know this was going to be the case until I took delivery. Other than that, their prices are good and I'll use them again.

Highly recommend them and have used them 4 times over the last couple of years.

Definitely cheaper than OZ with current exchange rate of the $1, even with the shipping and have the fastest delivery ever.

Ordered parts on a Thursday night (our time) and arrived at my door in Sydney the following Wednesday.

I know people will say to buy Australian, but as with any business' here its about the money saved. We tend to go to one dealer here as they are cheaper, why not go to another business if it is going to save you even more money. Makes good sense to me.

Unless its something I need that day or the next, I would prefer to buy from CIP1. Get parts quicker than I would if they were coming from Melbourne - been waiting for 5 weeks for a new Holden radio under warranty.

Go for it, Kev.

I too have used them. No complaints whatsoever. Service was great and delivery inside 5 calendar days each time.

The trick is to not just buy one item, otherwise the shipping will kill you. Also, make sure you buy for YOUR correct model car. The US models were different to the Aussie models.

I have purchased in bulk, and with the postage has worked out much cheaper than local.

Whether you get German or Brazilian made products makes no difference (in my opinion) as VW's were made in Brazil and then Mexico. I haven't had problem with parts yet.

I've now made 2 orders with them and they are awesome. Fast delivery but postage is a bit on the expensive side. with our Aussie dollar at the moment it is a good time to buy.

This has been raised plenty of times before. Use the search function for CIP1. I've had no problems. Ordered on a Friday, delivered the following Thursday.

Ordered a heap of parts last nite plus i also found a discount code taking a further 10% off everything

its >>> FEB11 for anybody who wants to know....

Just missed out on their last offer which finished on the 3rd and was 24% of selected items...

Add them on facebook to find out their weekly/ monthly offers they are always bringing out!!!

Shouldnt have too much trouble with the year models as mine is a '71 super, i did however have some parts in the shopping list like a glovebox and sunvisors before i realised the whole RHD LHD thing wouldnt work haha

abba - February 8th, 2011 at 08:24 AM

I have never used them . I use http://www.pacificcustoms.com  but same story. Excellent service. Email response within 24 hrs. Items delivered to my door within 10 working days. Can track items in post with a code. And cheaper than local. The internet is the new way to shop.

sander288 - February 8th, 2011 at 11:42 AM

yep CIP1 is really good; ordered parts on wednesday it was here monday (yesterday!! woohoo!!)

:) smiles all round

Birdman - February 8th, 2011 at 06:29 PM

Don't bother with their rubber, it's not highly regarded. Go Wolsfburg west of WCM for rubber. Cip are cheap but dont really stock the "restoration quality" parts.

vlad01 - February 8th, 2011 at 07:04 PM

Simple! if I need it soon I buy overseas. lol it always comes faster than Australian postal system

that is a disgrace:crazy:

The rubbers I bought from them were made in the USA...

many parts are labelled brazillian or German or USA etc...

I've always used CIP1 in the USA....
why use Canada CIP1 ?????

1965 German Beetles had large glass ....

1967 Beetles were a one year only model....

had different doors and door glass and round push button door handles....

PS: I've been told that some WCM rubbers are also made in Brasil or Mexico...
