Hi All,
I believe that there was a Central Coast VW club - which disbanded for reasons best known to itself - but are there any groups that still meet and go
for drives around the area?
I'm not a Kombi Club member, so I don't know of their meetings/drives (Would I be allowed to join, just owning a beetle?).
But if there is any VW action, I'd be keen to join in.
Cheers.

Bugs and Buses by the Bay
Thats Croudace Bay on the sunny shores of beautiful Lake Macquarie NSW.
i am on the central coast, always keen for a run.
if anyone wants a run from syd or newcastle to Pearl Beach or Patonga its a nice drive and destination(s)
ah... the DakPak! it was cerntral coast based, and had many members at one stage, but alas very few wanted to do the hard yards of running and organising a club and cruises etc. it went a slow death.
They sound great Ian - I'll be along at Gunnedah ( bug free unfortunately) but I'll bring it along for the Pit stop cruise.
Patonga sounds great too if that gets off the ground.
cafe at pearl beach or pub lunch at patonga... happy to sort either.
maybe depart wahroonga or similar
dates? sat march 5?
Yeah we used to run a club up there.
The first was the Central Coast VW Club formed in the 80's by Peter Korsch. We had a few big shows, and used to get 20+ cars on runs. The club though
sort of disappeared in the 90's. Peter is still around the coast up there. I moved back up the coast in 2004 and we kick started another version of
the Central Coast VW Club. We ran for a couple of years, but getting numbers was always a problem. We'd do monthly cruises, but it was always the
same people, and numbers dwindled off. I moved away from up there in 2007, and the club was still running, albeit now in a very informal, pop around
to peoples houses.
Good luck if you're trying to get something going up there. There's plenty of cars, you've just got to get the word out.
5th March sounds good to me.
I might join when the procession reaches the coast at Gosford - haven't built enough trust to drive it to Wahroonga first!
Pub lunch would be great.
Should we make up a leaflet and put it on VWs we see around the place in addition to notices on here and the Kombi Club forum once details have been
sorted?
wahroonga via old pacific hwy to gosford/patonga sounds like a good route.
I'm ok for the 5th.
thats 2 poeple in.
we need someone to meet the masses at wahroonga?? any takers (you can then select a location to meet)
Did you want to re post this as an event?
