Just saw this article about a guy who has decided (for reasons I'm not altogether clear on) to drive only a Model A Ford for an entire year.
The article is here:

The blog where he describes everything is here:

Whilst my 74 L Bug is a completely different kettle of fish to the A, people often wonder what the heck I'm doing driving around in such an old
thing, and many people (especially Gen Y) are shocked that the thing can even be practical or useable on the road (How do you get up hills?)
Also, this guy has to deal with snow!!!
It's good to see people driving around in old cars, regardless of the type.
Cheers
Craig
i had one back in the 70s
Good topic and website.
Craig, Gen Y's don't understand too much outside an iPad/iphone and the like. Unless they can have every electronic accessory attached to the
Radio/CD player, they're not interested.
I guess you can't edumacate the edumacated academics.
Well it would be a blast.......
if it was this Model A

All things are relative. When the beetle drives too slow, I drive the kombi around for a while and the beetle suddnly seems real fast. When the kombi
seems too slow I get back on the pushy, then the kombi goes real fast
Never could understand why you need to upgrade motors etc.
I've been considering selling my Bug but not until I find something I really like for around the same amount that I will get for it. So I was going around to a few different car yards to see what there is and nearly got into an argument with a typical salesman because he said "who's gonna pay that for an old bug?!" (not even anything ridiculous). Clearly some people like him just don't understand. I thought if anyone I speak to about it someone who sells cars might have some idea but clearly he's just another ignoramus. Just like most of Gen Y lol
