Vollks.com.au?
Ollie - February 23rd, 2011 at 04:14 PM

I've been eyeing off the banner for vollks.com.au on the main page for a while now, and I see it's due to open nine days.

Anyone have any info on it? Location? Stock?
Is it similar to classic or vintage?

Cheers,
Ollie

Well I can tell you its an online store for hard to get VW parts etc, the person opening the store is a member of this forum and he is located here in Sydney

jjwebb123 - February 23rd, 2011 at 08:14 PM

sounds wicked i cant wait.

beetleboy88 - February 23rd, 2011 at 09:31 PM

Hopefully they will have a decent website to purchase from as opposed to the other Aussie company's. Something like Cip1 would be awesome!!

Chop Top VW - February 24th, 2011 at 08:14 PM

hi guys,

Well thats what im hoping for ( a decent website):)
I decided to start this business after finding it so hard to get parts that i wanted online.
I had to drive everywhere to get the parts and even then they were out of stock or the price would shock me.:(
So Vollks.com.au was born. It will be a fully operational online store.
choose, buy and delivered to your address. prices are all there, Nothing is hidden

No Tricks in advertising prices without tax and then adding at checkout. What you see is what you pay.

All our parts will have a review section to let us and other customers know what the product is like.
A CUSTOM section that has AutoLoc parts to modify your VW, Suicide door kits, power windows, bear claw etc...
It will also have a section for anyone that has an easy way of doing things (changing a part or fixing a problem) to post it there so others can benefit
A gallery of pics of VW's from around the world, gallery for pics of VW's from Australia ( send me as many pics of your VW or friends VW from Australia to post in the gallery) info@vollks.com.au

We wont have every part to start with , but we will have a good range that can satisfy most needs at the BEST prices around.
The range of products will grow as we source them.(its been a very long process)
future plans are massive, custom wheels, complete wiring harnesses, Custom pedals and the list is growing.
Our aim is to have the largest range of VW products online that anyone can purchase from the comfort of their home or work or phone.

There will be lots of free gifts, and great specials for the opening of the site.
any questions or suggestion please feel free to contact us.

Hello Chop Top VW,

Let me be one of the first to wish you luck.

As some of the guys have already said, we're hoping for a easy and pleasurable way to shop for our "favourite vehicles" online. If your site can be as good as, or better than machine7 ( http://www.machine7.com/ ), CIP1 ( http://www2.cip1.com/ ), or even Classic Vee Dub ( https://www.classicveedub.com.au/cvd_new/index.aspx ), then we'll be well served.

Once again, here's wishing you all the best in your endeavours - can't wait to check it out in 8 days (at the time of writing). :spin:

Thanks guys,
Really appreciate the feedback and comments.
Hopefully the website will be just as you guys expect,
we wont have a big range as other websites (to start with)
but we are working very hard to get a bigger range to cater for all.
Looking forward to seeing you at vollks.com.au
Lee thank you for the photos ( you will see them under gallery/ VW's from Australia):tu:

jvans5434 - February 26th, 2011 at 01:59 PM

hey there,

congrats on the store, can't wait to see it. I hope it'll compete with the good exchange rate and some of the American websites.

I'm a bit confused with all of this free shipping stuff. I live in the middle of buck @#%* Idaho, and find it absurd that you could ship for free across australia... SO I've tested that theory:

I nearly fell off my chair looking at another Australian website dedicated to the type 2. I chose some pretty big panels at exceptionally low prices, and went through the checkout, found absolutely no restrictions, and absolutely no freight charges extra!!!!

I placed the order online, which was received, and I am waiting for the parts....... or a phone call to say that shipping is out of the question.

I'll keep you all posted with the results,,,,

I am constantly shopping online, it's addictive, and can't wait for some decent australian competition, so without a doubt I'll be the first on Vollks.com And I'll be the first to test you out ChopTop vw

congratulations in advance,

Chop Top VW - February 26th, 2011 at 10:11 PM

Hi jvans5434 ,

Free shipping will be on selected items for our store opening .
For all other items shipping will be very well priced.
We are trying to keep cost to a minimum and we will also allow pick up from sydney by appointment.

Regards
Chop Top VW

Chop Top VW - February 26th, 2011 at 10:13 PM

Keep those photo's coming everyone, we need to have a large gallery of Austrlian VW's

DirkHedde - February 27th, 2011 at 07:41 AM

you may have to change your ad to say well priced shipping australia wide. it will be interesting to see your prices im going to rebuild my engine shortly so when you open ill send through a list

matberry - February 27th, 2011 at 09:27 AM

So should the add read 'Free delivery Australia wide on selected items as an opening special' ?

What about 'Australia's largest online VW store'? Is there any fine print that we should know about with that statement? My guess is if your the only 'on line "only" vw store' you can make the claim.....

Sorry to stir but the question has to be asked. Your add looks very nice and I wish you every success. I do worry as some VW shops in this country have 100's of thousands of dollars worth of stock and many years experience in the industry and all of a sudden you want to beat them. Good luck, hey, I'll certainly be checking out what you have to offer, hopefully your store will be competitive on range, service and price.
We all know there's nothing wrong with more competition in the market place.

OZ Towdster - February 27th, 2011 at 09:42 AM

As others have said above , i wish you well and you would do well if carrying QUALITY parts over quantity as theres nothing worse than ordering a part for your pride and joy to find it's some piece of brazilian shit that wouldn't have a hope in hell of fitting

Yeeeaaaahhhh, I just read this and you have got me all excited and the best part is that you are only about 10 minutes from my place.

All the best on your new venture and this is something I had thought about starting but wouldn't know where to start, so my hat comes off to you and I look forward to the grand opening.

Kevin

Hi matberry ,
Actually vollks.com.au is the only FULLY OPERATIONAL online store.
I have not come across a website yet (looked for about a year and a half trying to get parts for my car) that offers all their prices and availability including postage online.
As for you "worrying that some of the VW shops that have 100's of thousand of dollars in stock and many years experience , and all of a sudden we are trying to beat them"
We are not trying to beat anyone,
also what's the years of experience have anything to do with opening an online store that sells brandnew VW parts and accessories, (Harvey Norman doesn't know much about Epilady (womens shavers) but he still sells them);)
we are not claiming to be experts in the VW industry, put simply we like our VW's and saw a need in the Aussie market for an easier way to get parts without having to call the many VW shops OR online stores that don't advertise all their prices on their site.
As for the "100's of thousand of dollars worth of stock the many VW stores carry", Again we are not claiming to carry more stock than anyone, but what we are saying is if the picture of the product is on our website, The CUSTOMER WILL SEE the price inc.shipping cost, or out of stock if we sold out.
We will NOT advertise a product if we dont sell it just to make our site look full.
You dont need to apologise, you have every right to ask any question you wish, and its our pleasure to answer.
And we can assure you that we will be VERY competitive on Price and Service, as for the range we are working very Hard to get there (Rome was not built in one day)

OZ Towdster & Camo , Thanks for the support
Camo i guess you will be saving on delivery:cool:

Paulc1964au - February 27th, 2011 at 07:14 PM

Guys,

I have been lucky enough to preview the site and help beta test and I can assure you that you won't be disappointed. Yes maybe not as much stock as others at this stage but it looks very very promising

scot70wagon - February 27th, 2011 at 07:41 PM

will you be able to access all the cip gear, as i look through their site and think how awesome it would be to have access to that sort of gear here. Obviously it won,t be as cheap as direct from the USA . But they aren,t exactly around the corner if there is a stuff up.

Craig Torrens - February 27th, 2011 at 07:46 PM

Congrats :tu:........just make sure you do your tax properly, unlike other parts suppliers on this forum.

No where near as many products at this stage

vlad01 - February 27th, 2011 at 07:53 PM

hope you will do type 3 stuff :D

So far 50% of my stuff has been NOS due to poor quality or non available aftermarket type 3 parts.
It's been making my project much more fun though :D Its like a huge scavenger hunt. So far my parts have come from:

USA
Germany
UK
Australia
Malta
Philippines

But NOS parts rules :tu:

Brian - February 27th, 2011 at 07:59 PM

There is other online Australian vw shops

With experienced people to help with the products that they sell

Brian - February 27th, 2011 at 08:01 PM

Free delivery Australia wide

Australia's biggest on line store

what a croc

thats false advertising

Paulc1964au - February 27th, 2011 at 08:10 PM

Before I reply to Brian let me make it clear my affiliation with the owner of the site. We met through this site and have spoken on the phone many times. what led the person (who by the way is a major sponsor of this site) to open an online store was his frustration in sites not showing full price including delivery or advertising but not having the product in stock.

If you reread his claim is that this will be the only online store with full price and shipping costs and the product being in stock.

without seeing the site i dont understand how you can criticise his claims. All will be revealed in a few days then you can judge for yourself from what i have seen if i had bought my wheels from this site and my speaker shelf I would have $140 more in my pocket

scot70wagon - February 27th, 2011 at 08:34 PM

anyone who has the balls to back himself is worth giving a fair go. bagging someone before he starts doesn,t exactly sit well with me. if he can,t save you some cash no harm done, one the other hand if he can save some of your hard earned does it really matter if his advertising isn,t 100% correct. the purpose of advertising is to to spike your interest so you check it out. So give him a fair go.

This isn't boostcruising.com. If you're just going to haggle someone because you don't believe them, then leave your comments elsewhere.

Give the guy, who is trying to make every VW lovers life easier, a chance to show us what he's got.

show Me another Australian VW shop with ALL their goods priced.... with free freight....
having an Internet site is half the battle... and cost.... the internet seems to be a thorn in the side of many VW parts shops in Australia...

having the parts priced.... means You don't have to ring them to find the price out.....
and You don't need to pay more to pay the GST....

Lee

PS: Cost of freight from USA is still prohibitive....
$18 part costs $35 freight...

If the Australian Dollar goes to $1-50US then everyone will be in trouble...

Wannavee - February 28th, 2011 at 07:53 PM

Yeah well, the old VW shop debate continues!
An $18 part with $35 freight is still probably a shitload cheaper from the US than locally sourced.

Good luck to Vollks.com.au I hope it all works out

type3disease - February 28th, 2011 at 08:35 PM

congrats on this bold move - wish I and or others had the balls to try something like this... I wish you every success and look forward to spending some money with you...
