Hi there,

The MySQL server had hung up its boots.

I gave it a quick kick up the slats, and all is now well.

I'll have to look into doing some maintenance soon as this version of MySQL is fairly old now.

I'll be taking a backup before any major changes happen, but all of our primary components:

Apache + APC (our PHP opcode cache)
PHP
MySQL

Are all a bit out of date and need some maintenance. We use the RHEL packages, so we're patched for security reasons, but we're not running recent versions which gives us performance boosts.

I'll look and see if our VM could be upgraded for a later Centos version, as this will give us the best of all worlds, but if not, I'll be patching these over time to give us a bit of a performance boost.
