hows this for pricing insanity

I'm in the process of buying a used Lancer wagon. The hubcaps on it are destroyed with gutter rash. I haggled the used car dealer to throw in some tyres and replace with genuine hubcaps. He rings me back and says the hubcap part of the deal is off because they are $600 a set. I think "bloody bullshit" and ring the local mitsu dealer. $600 plus a week wait! What? For plastic fricken wheel trims? Anyway so I get on ebay, and the same bloody mistsubishi dealer is selling brand new in box 16" genuine alloys for $250 a set of 4! Of course I bought them! Now spewing because I have to wait until I wear out my 15 inch tyres before I can put them on.

If you want some 16x6 5 x 114 pcd wheels for $250 they have 2 sets left.

straight to mister sims but then again a bitsashitty is mostly made of thai plastic so the wheels are worth more than the car :lol:

Atleast you can get new hubcaps for them.

Some cars you couldn't get them new even when the cars were still new(ish)

SB Barinas were a good example which is why you see so many with Kmart hubcaps.

They're the kind of car driven by people who have issues parallel parking so they're forever getting damaged.

yep people who have issues generally as the barina is such a BIG hulk to park too :crazy:

Its not my fault I dont drive a VW, its VW's fault. Go ask VW why I cant have a manual golf wagon. And ask them why a towbar costs $1000 when a lancer towbar costs $350.

Lancer's are awesome, this will be my 3rd. I figure I'll replace the falcon with the 2.4 litre manual lancer wagon for the space and then replace my current lancer coupe with the polo gti... or not because they dont come in manual either!!! I might try the comfortline polo and see how that fits. There's one parked outside work every day and it looks very sweet.

Only problem I have now is that the car yard has got sick of me trying to screw the best price and best finance terms out of everyone they wont let me pick it up thursday arvo. Gonna have to wait until next week probably.
