Been buying and talking about empi stuff for years, but after exposure with other dubbers i'm confused.
I been calling it empi, as in 'one word' pronounced 'ehmmpeee'.
but then some say the letters for the abbreviation form instead... saying Eee em pee eye (E.M.P.I)
which is the right way?
I naturally look like a spaz but this might help a little
if your a kiwi?
mmpe
Surely it's just the way it looks?
Well at least, that's how I've herd people say it? When I was in the states they all said it "ehmpee".
Though I've been known to be wrong before!

I have only ever heard it as one word.
I thought it was pronounced "sheeite"

The correct pronunciation is "EMPISHITE"
20 odd years ago it was good now it's just cheap crap
Well in the GOOD old days it was
European Motor Products Incorporated
But today you can shorten it S H I T

thanks for all clearing that up, ehmmpee it is! rolls of the tongue better. but even shite is better again, for after all, its only 1 syllable lol.
yes mr rainy face is locked up in the vault
Don't worry it's in safe keeping, will reappear for your 40th
Btw it's short for Everything Manufactured Passes Inspection

Joke was missed there.
Your right, once upon a time it was a quality company making decent parts but that was 30 years ago, like everything it's been outsourced to sweat
shops in the peoples republic.
Everything manufactured even if it's a faulty piece of shit like most of their stuff is nowadays it passes inspection and is sold to the public no
matter how dodgy it is.
I saw an Empi chrome sump plate once, was so thin I could almost see through it.
It's the new comers to the hobby that heard of their fathers uncle who had the Porsche powered bug back in the day that all the Empi parts he had on
it made it beat Monaros and GTHOs so they buy all that prettty chrome tinware for the added 20hp thinking it's still the same good stuff and keep
companies like this afloat
Some parts you can get away with skimping, others just aren't worth it.
I might trust an Empi decklid seal, but not their rear disc brakes or shock absorbers for example.
I thought empi was pronounced "Chinese dick!"
I can understand your problem when I was last in Queensland I said Bribie Island wrong and ended up in a punch up !
so after I punched him out I asked a bloke from Victoria how to pronounce Bribie and went on my way
they get a bit too much sun up here heh !! he said
