zjm - May 22nd, 2011 at 08:04 PM

pretty big this year and I think the price must have been just right it seemed to keep the Riff Raff away

LUFTMEISTER - May 22nd, 2011 at 08:40 PM

Riff Raff here.:ninja: A little dicky bird told me numbers were down and the quality as well , shame really. Maybe $50 next year? Keep more of the unwashed away... hey what.

ian.mezz - May 22nd, 2011 at 08:47 PM

I am pretty sure that the numbers were up on last year
and there was a few new vw parts suppliers this year .
and the quality of the used vw parts in the swap meet was still oLD vw bits and pieces .:crazy::lol:
iT Was a good day out and those who stayed away missed out .:fakesniff: on another good vw Nats.

The swap meet was great, I sold heaps, bought a bit, prices were good and there were some bargains to be had if you looked hard enough.

Thanks to the hard working Club Vee Dub club members who ran the day.

May I make this quite clear. I have never said the Nats were not well run nor a great event. My only complaint is the cost of the swap meet entry when compared to every other swap meet in the country. I can find no reason for the increased premium to attend this event.

barls - May 22nd, 2011 at 09:53 PM

looked fairly full to me considering that we had people out on the grass. good show by all accounts

beetleboyjeff - May 22nd, 2011 at 11:30 PM

If anything, I reckon the swap meet was bigger. I scored some stuff I was chasing. It doesn't seem like the price was too big a problem for most people.

we all know your personal position, build a bridge.....get over it...move on....

Dude its only $50 once a year!!!!!! If you had anything decent to sell you would make that back, which in sure most guys did!!!!!!!!
If $50 breaks the bank than i suggest your in the wrong game!!!! you probably spent more on electricity winging about it on here. Everything increases in price not just swap meets. maybe you should try playing chess in the mall.
Great event!!! Even my 10 week old daughter had a good day, and got her first Beetle. Will definitely be back next year

LUFTMEISTER - May 23rd, 2011 at 06:33 PM

Dude if you happy being screwed out of your hard earned, then good luck to you Sir  Do some research and compare what everyone else is charging for a swap meet site. A little bit of knowledge goes a long way. Then look up the definition of a complaint vs a whinge. if you do not say something, then you are just bending over and holding your cheeks apart. My2c

For someone that wasn't even at the event and is big on so-called research, id consider their comments
an uneducated whinge.

nearly bought a bird cage but was missing the perch

vw54 - May 23rd, 2011 at 07:03 PM

Well if yar wantta know the swapper numbers were UP from last year
as yar can see buy the sites out near the track ( thank god it didnt rain )

sorry to the people who get pushed out in the elements but as the Trade stands are increasing in size they pay the real money, so the under cover area for swappers is decreasing ( lucky in dont rain in May in Sydney )

Many thanks to all the swappers who did attend I hope you sold heaps and went home with a smile on yr dial ( by selling some item to someone who needed it )

Helped greatly to make it a great day :-) Had a ball look over all the bits and pieces...

Stupid me though for not having my checklist and cheque book :-(

Any who was selling a beetle roof rack and didn't off load it...PM me! Please :-)

Barnabie - May 25th, 2011 at 08:15 PM

I don't know much about the costs etc, but I had a ball ratting through the stalls looking for bits and pieces I usually have to try and hunt for through ebay and the like. I didn't count the stall numbers but it appeared to me that it was a bit bigger than last year.
